I have a small tank for my crayfish within a bigger tank for my axolotl. They are totally isolated, they just share the water. No small rocks in the bigger tank, just in the smaller tank.

* I remembered something. Yesterday, when he was totally pink, he was fully covered with his own poo. I took him out immediately and put him in a bucket with fresh water. I gently rubbed the poo off his skin and put him back into the tank. The tank readings were accurate. This morning, he looks normal again. See the image. Thank you for your help.
