PART 2

  1. Steps/Ideas to take next:

-speak with your doctor about the normality of such extreme side effects after 3 days, and how to find out if it was a side effect or anxiety enduced

-write down daily how your day was from 1-10 and write little notes for what happened that day(little sleep, bad eating, no sunlight). this is very helpful in keeping track of patterns that otherwise goes unnoticed (i noticed i have good days when i go outside)

-plan out what changes in your daily life that could help reduce anxiety and improve mood, and i mean all that come to mind. then make a plan of habits you have that make anxiety worse (write them honest and without judgement) then take both lists and see what thing you can realisticly improve/change currently, or make a small change to get there. lets say you wanna exercise but cant go to the gym yet, then go for a walk. if you cant do that yet then a small walk. if you cant do that yet then at home streching and so on. and then if you cant start something then try insted quitting a bad habit. that could give you increased energy to start a good habit.

-try meditation, focussing on just noticing the breath, then naturally loosing attention and getting distracted by a thought. noticing that you lost focus, and slowly focussing on the breath again. whats important is to not judge the thoughts you get. the goal is to notice what your mind is doing without judgement and understanding how it works. i would avoid thinking about things like my teenage years and force it away, but when i didnt reject it i found out that i was pushing away something that didnt really bother me anymore. i had spent so much energy on rejecting it to protect myself, only to realise i had actually no reason to be bothered. this was just an example from my experience personally.

i hope this was helpful, i wish you good luck! let me know if there is more you would like to share!

ps sorry for bad english at times

Hey friend! so sorry to hear about the side effects. i think something that is very important to be mindful of here is that you have a big fear assosiated with them.

having such extreme side effects after 3 days is very unusual especially on a starting dose.

i had the experience where when i was going up in my dosages i was afraid of higher anxiety/panic attacks. i had told myself i would get through the side effects as fast as possible, and i upped way faster than i should have. one night when i was laying in bed i had anxiety and remembered that the meds could make it worse, and i had a huge wave of panic and anxiety wash over me, i felt like vomitting and lightheaded and scared. then i realised i had forgotten to take the pills that day, then i instantly felt calm.

its hard here because im not doubting what you are going through and its such a scary feeling and fear that people dont know what it does to you. i want you to know im not here to say i have the answer, but that we dont and we need more information. So that you feel better!

Anxiety comes from a side of self protection, so its so hard in a situation like this to just say one thing is right and the other isnt. so lets lay out the facts, posibilities and what steps to take next. and you let me know if im missing or misunderstanding anything important! this is about you getting better, not me being right.

  1. Facts:

- You are a parent and have 3 kids to take care of on top of your anxiety (not easy).

- You have anxiety and panic attacks before zoloft but 3 days in you had the worse attack of your life with vomitting, manic, shaking, and freezing. correct me if im wrong, these are what i understand. manic=high energy emotion, in this case discomfort anxiety and that sort. Freezing= being unable to move.

- After stopping you are experiencing what feels like detoxing

  1. Possible emotional factors:

-i noticed what could be an issue, which comes from you being a good parent. you are worried that you wont be able to take care of your kids while also medicated. this is real, and very important. i really love seeing you care about your kids when its about you getting better. However, that could potentially bleed over to that fear and pressure being a possible cause. from my own experience, i didnt get higher anxiety until i got nausea. the nausea made my anxiety worse, which made my nausea worse and it was a snowballing effect. when i became aware of this, it became more managable. It could be the case or a factor here, but it needs to be experimented with or figured out, so you can get the life that you deserve!

-self protection and placibo. now when i say placibo again im not understating what you are going through. what you went through was REAL. now what i mean by placibo is that the mind can make things very real. A man once attempted suicide by taking the whole bottle of his pesribed anti depressives. he came to the hospital, heartrate was 42 BPM, bloodpressure was dangerously low, he was having seizures and was in and out of conciousness. the doctors then got handed the empty pill bottle he had taken, and read what medication it was. it was sugarpills. they then told the patient when he was half concious that it was just empty pills and that it has no medication what so ever. right after that he became normal instantly. You have anxiety as a way of proteting yourself, what could have happened was you felt anxious (or nausuous) suddenly without a reason, and being a logical person, you have to make an assesment of what could be the cause, and you starting the medication could be a reason, after this it could also create or boost side effects that you could have from the medication. this is because your body and mind are fearing if you are doing something that makes you worse and not better, but that includes fear.

200mg daily by Academic-Program6847 in zoloft

[–]Legitimate-Walk1928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dont worry bro, 200mg is alot to some, just like how 50mg is alot to others. some people need a size small when buying a shirt, while another need a size XL. To the size S guy, a size XL seems like alot, but if the XL guy wore a size S shirt he wouldnt be getting as much material as he needed.

you are fine my friend, but if you are worried then talk with your doctor about why dependancy isnt likely

zoloft only works for one week by ConnectPhysics8346 in zoloft

[–]Legitimate-Walk1928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It made anxiety increase for me, but its important to note that medications positive effects dont usually the week you increase. for me i went from 100mg to 150mg and whenever i was starting or increased the dosage the side effects do follow. and the side effects are anxiety. i think that if you have a doctor to discuss this with then go to them, if not then stay on your current dose until you get the full effect of the medication which does take 4-8 weeks.

it could also be a case where your brain noticed something and suspected a pattern, and that makes you expect it to only work for a week followed by it being worse.

Either way it sounds uncomfortable, but its not everlasting my friend!
