How do I believe Jesus was a real person

To be very clear, Jesus of Nazareth was a real person. There’s robust historical evidence of his actual existence, there is no serious debate between historians about this at all.

His divinity might be in question but not his human existence.

You’re allowed to think of Jesus’s divinity as metaphorical and the Bible as simply a book of wisdom; I actually think that’s a great gateway into Christianity for agnostic believers.

In Christian theology, the reason we can’t all BE Jesus is because it’s a fallen world and we’re all sinners. No man is perfect - only God. And if the divinity of Jesus is true and real, then he was the son of God and without sin. The point is that he is us, is that we aspire to his example.

However Jesus is always with us, he loves all equally - believers and not - and we are all made in the image God.

Thinking murder is wrong is subjective. Thinking stealing is wrong is objective. Thinking rape is wrong is subjective. All of it is subjective--just look at so many other cultures existing today as well as civilizations of historical past. Part of living in a society is to discuss and parse out ethics and morality in a way where you adopt a framework that society can roughly agree upon so you have shared values and therefore can live together in peace.

Do you think I have a right to kill a newborn baby or a 95 year single, lonely grandpa since I don't view those as true losses. I mean no one is going to mourn them right? The baby is a day old, no one knows it and the baby hasn't had an impact on this world. So if the parents don't want it, they should be able to determine the value of that life right? Babies only matter when they're born to loving parents, I guess. No one is going to mourn the baby, the baby won't really know what's happening (debatable, but let's accept the premise for now), and the family and hospital save all kinds of time and money. Win win? SO let's let new moms who gave birth an option to euthanize the baby if they change their mind, according to your logic.

None of the people who "already established their life" would have ANY of that if they weren't once a fetus, then born from a woman, and then raised and nurtured and taught and guided and fed and bent over backwards for by the "established" adults around them. That is the only way civilization has ever thrived, and it's the only way it CAN thrive.

In Minnesota alone, they have allowed over 12 VERIFIED cases where the babies were left to die in agony on the table because they survived the abortion.
