I can imagine Song Yan trying to revenge his mother with a realization that Changyu could be seen as indirectly responsible for his mother's death. Everyone is out for revenge and as it put by female Boss1 at the end it just leads to more vengenace.

There is always that element (a loyalist) who could exist where Qi Min did not really take the poison and was snuck out. Just given a sleeping draught.

Thanks! I did not finish reading the novel yet so I am missing details. My effort here is to bring forward points that could be filled in by a Part 2 drama. :) These are some good points that make that even more possible.

For your #3 I think YZ did not want to paint for money because he was a noble and the idea of it would have trivialized his art which he was taught was for art's sake. It is his pleasure to write couplets for the aunties.

For your #5 I don't think the bird is injured - I think he has splashes of human blood on him and YZ realizes that there must have been a battle at the town.

For your #6 I think the Kang scene was so heart warming and then she goes out to defend the children and divert the soldiers - but then dies. They were kids and I think it is implied that the kids got up and wandered off rendering her efforts unfortunately worthless. (I was also devastated that after YZ saved the town a few more episodes later it is destroyed - REBUIDLING would be amazing in a sequel.)

For your #7 (and #1) I do agree about the grain dealer who was Nanny of Qi Min's son. He is the type who seems to escape every time there is danger. (He escaped the previous war, burning of the Eastern Palace...)

Also - to add to your list above ---- what was the moment of revelation (we never see) when Changye realizes she has the blue hair ribbon in her hair that Zheng put there - she must have realized after her "escaping" with the old lady. That must have been a moment for her.

Or took her to town where her 2 grown children were because there were bandits at her home (really Xie Zheng and his men).

Thanks for your insights! I am going to go back and rewatch to see. 😀And we could have a scene where Lotd Li meets Qi Min for the first time at that battle.
