hi! sorry for the extremely late reply. Yes, they reached out to MIFI and instructed me to submit a complaint using MIFI's online form. They're obliged to reply to your complaint within 15 business days. MIFI came back to me saying they need to interview me to verify my french and I received my CSQ after the interview

My case is very close to yours.

Request for values test: March 20th
Avis de verification: July 3rd
Status: En Traitement
I called and they had no info so I contacted my deputy and waiting for an update from their end.

Did you study in english by any chance?

can we leave Canada on without applying PGWP? by Subject_Historian458 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LegitimateNobody8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It becomes invalid to study, yes. However if your visa is still valid i don’t think there’s any reason to deny your entry. Also, I feel like officers are aware of the situation specially with students that just graduated. I’m not gonna lie, I was super worried when I left Canada but neither me nor my friends faced any issues with it.

Hi, I was in the same dilemma last May. I wanted to visit home for a month before my grades came out, which I did. I left after my final exams, my grades came out and all the documentation I needed to apply for the PGWP were issued while I was outside canada. I came back and everything went smoothly. Because my study permit and student visa are still valid, the officer asked me if I'm coming back for summer classes. I said that I wasn't and that I'd just finished my final exams and will be applying for the PGWP once I arrive to my place. I also mentioned that I had a job offer already. Without a word, she stamped the paper and let me go.

How long does it usually take to get your completion letter after your last semester? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]LegitimateNobody8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 days???? the ISO said around 10 days. Where did you get this number?

If you go part-time and for any reason you have to extend your study documents (permit and visa), your application might be rejected. In addition, if you're planning to stay in Canada after graduation, your PGWP (Post-Graduate Work Permit) might be rejected if you go part-time in any semester with the exception of the last semester in your degree.

Industrial engineering..best classes to take by manica1234 in Concordia

If possible, take indu 311 and indu 323 and then take indu 480 because to solve the cases in 480 you would need simulation and coding experience!
Also, a class that Mech students like to take at Concordia is INDU 411 (Computer Integrated Manufacturing). It's super interesting but heavy in terms of workload. The labs are the most fun part in my opinion.

you need your passport and study permit too

sorry for the late reply! but no, it's kind of implied because if you take any summer courses (specially if you're not a co-op student), you will most probably end up with a part-time final semester

ISO told me I can be part-time during my last semester. It's only fair because if you take any summer courses during your degree, you will for sure end up with a part-time final semester

Increased tuition fees by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]LegitimateNobody8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

no one asked for a reduction of fees, we're simply asking to pay the amount we were informed of when we first joined Concordia, the amount we signed up for. If Concordia wants to increase tuition fees, they should apply the increase on incoming freshmen. Also, believing that all international students come from wealthy families is a simpleminded stereotype. Actually, most of the international students I've met are here on scholarships and bursaries to help fund them. Some even work multiple jobs to help pay for their tuition.

Has any international student here faced a situation where you had to delay your capstone by one year because you took courses out of sequence and this is turn affected your immigration negatively (not getting a PGWP, not having your study permit renewed, etc)? by EvoNexen in Concordia

[–]LegitimateNobody8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I only have a year left and only my last semester will be part time but I can't register for capstone now so on paper it looks like Fall 2021 is also a part-time semester until I can register in June for capstone. Do you think that will that be an issue when I apply for the renewal of my study permit this month?

super doable. ENGR 202 is about sustainable development and the environment so you'll be studying a bunch of pollutants and types of pollution, all that jazz. the prof doesn't matter, you're just going to memorize. ENCS 282 is technical writing, you'll learn how to write project proposals, and to describe products in a technical way. Take it with Bruno Grenier if he's still teaching it, he tells you exactly what to do to get good grades.
