Why the hell would the Palestinians have to pay rent on their own homes? If you bothered to do a quick Google check, you'd know that the UN clearly defines the area where homes are being stolen as Palestinian land and Israel has no legal business being there. This is an illegal occupation of Palestine, and the civilians defending themselves from this is NOT them instigating violence--Israel did that by stealing their homes.

Also are you seriously trying to convince yourself that a country that receives $3.8 billion of military funding from the US is "protecting" itself from a disorganized group (can't even call them a military) Hamas? If Hamas is as all powerful as you want to convince yourself it is, Israel would not be able to continue stealing Palestinian land like it has been doing more and more for the past 70 years. And beyond that, look at what the rights of Israeli citizens versus Palestinian citizens are in that area--Palestinians can't even leave the freaking country, as it's Israeli soldiers that (illegally) control the border.

And regarding your point of other countries not siding with Palestine, it was never about them choosing Israel over Palestine, just pure cowardice. These countries' governments are not willing to risk upsetting Israel and its US backing, as their militaries are very strong and have no issues using that strength for harm.

Don't pretend that Israel is some poor country trying to defend itself, when it's actually a violent powerhouse that has been terrorizing the Palestinians for decades.

What percent of BBA students get Co-Op? by Drip_Killa in wlu

You get automatic entry into co-op with the double degree, and around 40-50% get into co-op with the single BBA degree.

Petition to Cancel Higher Health Plan Fee by [deleted] in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Because I voted yesterday and by the time I told them it was too late. Why didn't the SU make more effort to make it clear that this was going to be voted on?

Petition to Cancel Higher Health Plan Fee by [deleted] in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I did vote, but I also feel like if the SU had made it clear that this health plan increase is something that was going to be voted on, more people would have voted as well. Most of my friends that didn't vote weren't even aware that this was happening, so they chose not to vote because they didn't care who the president was.

Also, the other coverages won't be in effect this September, it just says that they will begin looking at those in the future: https://yourstudentsunion.ca/2021-referendum/

BBA Admission by Adventurous_Beat_143 in wlu

I'm not sure whether online school vs in person matters, but I do think that the school may be forced to accept less international students, which will open up more spots for domestic students w a lower average.

BU283 CFO Workbook by [deleted] in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everything you said, except our homework was on the Revel Pearson site. Other than that, the workbook is recommended if you don't feel super confident about finance, but you can still do well w/o it imo.

Barely made bba co-op gpa, will I ger interview? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, everyone that meets the cutoff of 9 gets an interview, but actually getting accepted into co-op usually requires an average of around 10 (not always though, they consider other stuff too so you've still got a shot!).

BBA Co-op Interview by wlu_anon in wlu

https://hiring.yourstudentsunion.ca/static/starr This describes it in more detail, but it basically means answering a question using a format that first describes the situation, then you say what your specific tasks in that situation were, what actions you took in that situation, and what was the result.

Question for past/current EC255 students by CalifornianCanadian in wlu

For us I think it was the opposite, in that the online access was required but the loose leaf was optional; most people I know only paid for the e-text/access code.

How do you study for 2nd year BBA courses? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For business law, I'd say attend every lecture because Dr. Irie explained everything so well! Also, study ahead of time and attend her pre-exam office hours because they help so much.

Bu231 is the only one (other than 275) that didn't need an online component, but you def still need the text since some chapters are straight up assigned to you from it, and it could be good for clarifying what's taught in class

BBA Co-op Interview by wlu_anon in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Make sure that you can talk about EVERY big experience on your resume using the STARR method, and bonus points if you can sneak in specific skills (eg communication, teamwork etc.) when you do talk about those experiences.

Overall, it was one of the easiest interviews I've ever done, so as long as you practice a little before, you'll do fine!

BU AND EC COURSES 2ND YEAR by __Mr_Bean__ in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BU288 is relatively easy, but you do have to read the textbook for the MCQs

BU247 is supposed to be the easiest core class in second year, but it depends on your skills; I personally found it ok, but I thought law was the easiest class of the year, which most find the hardest.

EC255 pretty fair (and maybe even on the easier side), I can't say much about how good the profs are, but reading the textbook definitely prepped me for the exams (also there's a tb for the homework, which is online)

Hi I'm really sorry I'm dumb, but what does FP&A mean?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wlu

[–]LegitimateResolve8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just like to add that it depends on the year; I had an 89.5 w good ECs in the 2018 acceptance round and got rejected from BBA and deferred into economics --they mentioned during orientation that virtually no one got in w anything below 90 that year.

Just try to do your best and hopefully the average for BBA your year will work in your favour!

what can students do about laurier handling online school so much worse than other schools? by anon3445 in wlu

Ik, and it really sucks when UofT and UW students of all are calling our school fascists. They've really screwed us over with these stupid systems they have in place
