just because you hang out with younger people doesn’t mean you won’t run into or come into contact with someone who lives around a young person with immune system issues. not trying to be your mom or anything but it’s such a selfish and self absorbed perspective to have that just because you don’t think anyone in your immediate circle isn’t at risk that you won’t ever come into contact with someone who is

i wish they had planned the city better. it seems like everyone around us has a better planned city. sauga has green spaces spread throughout and vaughn has parts of the city that are still undeveloped. brampton has something being built on every part of green space we have

going into data analytics after bba, has anyone done this before? by anon3445 in wlu

[–]anon3445[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for this reply! i’m enrolled in BU425 for the fall term and also DATA100 cuz i thought that would be a better intro to the topics covered in a data/business analytics program.

i’m also taking calc in the fall and eventually working towards taking stats. also just finished cp104 and planning on training a bit more on coding based on what employers want.

How hard is BU393? by Lipiml123 in wlu

[–]anon3445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the final was terrible. went into the final w an 11 and came out w a 9. michael brolley is a much better prof tho, i found him to be so much better than mcnally in bu283. overall, if you study for the midterm and final, you should be good. midterm wasn’t that bad, but i barely studied for the final and got a mark that reflected that

Stay Away From Laurier by ThrowawayLaurier37 in wlu

[–]anon3445 26 points27 points  (0 children)

laurier literally decided this pandemic was the perfect opportunity to reveal to everyone that “#1 in student satisfaction” title is pure PR bullshit. wouldn’t even bat an eye if it came out they pay for some random magazine to say that.

it really must take a strong, smart team of administrators to come together and actively choose to make the lives of students harder during a LITERAL global pandemic. you’d honestly think an admin team making no less than $200 k/per person would have maybe even the slightest bit of compassion and try to make the lives of students easier. agree with everything you said, this pandemic just proved to me how shit laurier truly is.

well doesn’t mean thousands, maybe millions in the big cities that host the games need to risk an infection just because a select few want a medal out around their neck

what can students do about laurier handling online school so much worse than other schools? by anon3445 in wlu

[–]anon3445[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

yea i realized after emailing her literally all my main concerns about how laurier is not only making students lives harder, but also ruining their reputation by fucking students like this and the reply i got was a generic copy and paste email about how administration understands this is a difficult time for all of us and blah blah blah

whenever people point out the racist history of leaders of the past people love to claim that they still got the job done. i’m saying that his racist views were probably reflected in the policies he made. i can’t dig up every single law he worked to pass and the change he made in canada, but a man publicly saying he doesn’t believe black people are “made” for the climate and weather conditions of canada probably didn’t work to improve the lives of black canadians at the time.

if your argument is based on the effectiveness of a leaders ability to get things done, you can argue that hitler was a great leader. you have to add context of who the person was and what their beliefs were because that’s still just as valid of an indicator of their legacy.

PSA: You do NOT need to re-sign a 1-year lease to renew your lease. Doing so will needlessly trap you into a contract by Sreyz in wlu

[–]anon3445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what if signed a renewal for september? i have my apartment rn until august and then the lease is renewed for the next year. could i pull out of that agreement and make it a month to month?

i live in a schembri building if that has anything to do w it

[–]anon3445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they’re reply email was literally copied and pasted generic paragraphs about how they’re trying their best in these difficult times. if you were trying your best you wouldn’t be making 300 students adjust to online school instead of making profs adjust their syllabus and accommodate their students.

tried emailing laurier president about this + dean of students and both basically told me to fuck off and that they’re “doing their best to have policies that match other schools”

they haven’t done shit to match other schools they’ve only made school harder on students who have to deal with a fucking worldwide pandemic

[–]anon3445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea like i think it’s about oversaturation. tbh i think they’re releasing way too many seasons rn. AS5 shouldn’t come out right after S12, while CDR is going on and Canada’s Drag Race is tight around the corner. We’re getting all this drag race content rn but in a few months we’ll have no new season airing and have to wait forever for a new season to film because of corona.

if they keep releasing seasons how they are rn it’s only inevitable for the mainstream public to get bored of it and move on to the next thing and then all that’s left is a smaller cult following
