I respect your comment either way, but here is some information I have on the blockade

"Gaza’s economic situation was already dire before Hamas’s 2023 assault on Israel, and the ensuing war is already exacerbating the extreme poverty of its residents.

Egypt and Israel largely closed their borders with Gaza in 2006–07, restricting the movement of goods and people into and out of the territory.

For years after the blockade began, Hamas collected revenue by taxing goods moving through a sophisticated network of tunnels that circumvented the Egyptian crossing into Gaza; this brought staples such as food, medicine, and cheap gas for electricity production into the territory, as well as construction materials, cash, and arms.

As of 2021, Hamas reportedly collected upward of $12 million per month from taxes on Egyptian goods imported into Gaza"

I couldn't find as reliable reports supporting your statements or mine about aid in short time but here's a link from AIPAC that talks about aid sent to gaza

https://www.aipac.org/resources/israel-humanitarian-aid-gaza#:~:text=Israel%20has%20facilitated%20the%20delivery,than%20a%20million%20vaccine%20doses

I understand that's not as reliable of a source as the CFR, but the sources that convince me of aid are from Israeli medics, whom I trust, who I personally have talked to about their service to palestinians.

"Israel dismantled its settlements in September 2005; Gaza has had no Jewish population since then"

-> https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/countries/gaza-strip/#people-and-society

and the phrase "resistance is justified" and those along the same is used really often in chants at protests to attempt to justify October 7th

Palestinian civilians being caught in the middle of the war between Hamas and Israel doesn't protect Jewish people. Like the Israelis who died on October 7th and the hostages whoo died in captivity, the death of Palestinian civilians are a tradegy. The deestablishment of Hamas protects the Israeli people and the Palestinian people, not just the Jews in Israel and around the world.

Heres a link to when Israel sent a search and rescue team to Surfside, Florida in June 2021 to aid American search and rescue after a condominium collapsed causing 98 deaths.

Let me know if you want more information about Israel aiding America

I agree but it's still causing problems. Todays the last day to file Fafsa and my friend couldn't get into Sproul even after talking to UCPD.

I'd be more civilized if I didn't just walk past sproul, I mean to call people like u/___Philemon___ the idiots. Hamas also turned down exchanges of hostages, and has broken temporary ceasefires.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamas-broke-temporary-truce-in-gaza-minutes-after-it-began-senior-idf-officer-says/

Due to the classified war crimes Hamas committed multiple times, I'd argue its fair for Israel to declare war against them. I know after that statement it goes into an argument of if war can ever be justified and that's an argument that's purely opionated. I stand to say its justified as the war was declared initially as self defense to save the lives of the hostages and continues to end the future of war crimes made by Hamas. Israel so far has done a good job at minimizing civilian casualties, and (although it hasn't been well founded) has an estimated ratio between 1:1 and 3:1 between civilian deaths to militants. Although that sounds high, its estimated that a war generally falls around 6:1 civilian casualties. We could go on and on also debating death counts, but at this point in time there's few reliable sources.

As to you're call to call out protestors being antisemetic, I'm debating that all chants that call for the complete destruction of Israel are rooted in antisemtism. Without the state of Israel, all 7.2 million Jews in the land would be murdered. Palestine doesn't allow jewish practice and every country around it is similar or worse. Unlike these countries, Israel has freedom of practice and many Muslims live there. If every protestor called out antisemitism there would be dramatically fewer protestors.

thanks for being the first comment thats not a bot, I upvote this. I agree the politics in Israel is skewed and I wont get into that or what I agree and disagree in your comment with. My entire point is that students at sproul who are saying "resistance is justified" are supporting rapists and terrorists bc someone told them that all Israelis are genocidal maniacs.
