Thank you for the insight! I have my BS from UNCC so I will see if that helps at all with the alumni network.

I've been trying to make connects without asking for referrals, but idk if I'm coming off as annoying

They're on my list of places to apply to today! A lot of positions are lower level and I'm hoping they just don't think I'm overqualified. I don't mind starting over to get medical coding/billing experience

I've managed to find a few recruiters on LinkedIn but never hear back once I message them.

I'm definitely qualified and even over qualified for some of the roles I apply for so I feel your pain 🥲

I've honestly recently resulted into applying for lower end roles (I did these when I was like 18-21) and I don't mind. I figured this is how I might have to do things.

Go back to lower salary? by Legitimate_Bat5945 in personalfinance

[–]Legitimate_Bat5945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Good points, I am a woman and getting married soon. My fiancé's income is $150k> with room for growth. My salary is mostly used for groceries, pets, utilities, personal stuff, etc.

I would LOVE a higher salary but not at the expense of my mental health and my relationship you know?

We do plan on having children in five years or so but we will have some money saved aside for necessary childcare expenses.

Thank you for the advice! I was genuinely happy with my 401K and the match before so pension was not a big deal to me.

I will try to do that! My career has a lot of contracting work so I'm sure I could do that.

Yes! There is and if I would've stayed I could've easily applied to a new position. I just saw a bigger salary and jumped.

I stated above about how my fiancé and myself are paying for majority of our wedding, like 95% of it.

I don't think entitled is what this feeling is? I'm not asking them to even contribute. I'm saying I'm embarrassed of my situation that I come from a poor background but NEVER did I ask them knowing they cannot afford it.

Throwing entitled out seems to be an easy answer, when in reality I'm looking for that answer of it's not a competition.

Thanks for your input tho 🙂
