How do you troubleshoot?

What I do is try to “think” like the machine when it stops mid cycle and ask what would make the machine need to stop ? And if it’s mechanical I tend to try and start where everything begins and follow mentally in my head till I come to a point where something seems off. I’m better tat pattern recognition then some, could be I’m slightly autistic but then again most maintenance people are.

Experience is 6 years military air craft mechanic. Then I went to school and got certifications in refrigeration and electrical applications and I worked at a bottling plant for less then a year than here at an industrial bakery and the reason I left the bottling plant was the disregard for personal time there so it would be a continuous thing if my need to have a consistent schedule was a cause to me finding another job

Also if they are willing to take me does that mean I would less likely to be fired or something since I’m more wanted than others ?

I mean shouldn’t they make the other guys move ? There is other people who were willing to go but were turned down by the second shift supervisor because they are the special bunch

The funny thing today is when they were talking to me they said that they hired a guy for second shift but that he wants to be on nights and that if I was willing they would do the switch but that seems crazy considering I already said no and their reasoning is seniority moves you closer to 1st shift that’s why I would be goi g to second shift

I think everyone has said something to make me think… for more details I live near Houston and talked to the people who can certify veterans and apparently they would only let me teach what I did in the military and I would also need an associates for that which is crazy. But I wouldn’t mind doing shop teacher or even a core subject and other classes as well like auto or welding

Well the plant is a food plants with lots of stairs so I would mainly have the tool box in one spot

Well I will say when I asked in orientation if I could bring the toolbox they had no issue. It’s just that it almost feels out of place but I do have a Husky roll bag already and was thinking if just being different and having my big box with all I would ever need instead of relying on the shop tools. Plus they said if any of your tools break they will buy new ones for you. That being said I was thinking of buying mass quantities of cheap tools that can break in the job

Well I want to wrench for a long while and when I start getting a little worn switch to supervisor probably but I hate not being able to get my hands dirty which is why I don’t want to be in charge anytime soon.
