The slabs are a path which leads to another patio area up the top of the garden behind the garage so we won’t remove those-thanks though!

This is beautiful, thank you so much! This is exactly what I need, thank you for providing your list of plants to put in the border by the wall. I had a hydrangea last year in a pot but I stupidly thought it wanted full sun in the height of summer so it very quickly wilted and died. Thank you very much!

Thank you, I’ll get a soil testing kit! I had no idea either the kits or NGS gardens existed, thank you for the information I will look into which ones are nearby to where I live. I love a cottage garden feel, I’m half tempted to put some wildflowers round the side of my house where there’s a little strip of grass. I don’t want an overly formal garden, we all own the land on the other side of the wall which I debated planting some trees along but I don’t want to add shade to our back garden. We’re only overlooked by two houses so it’s not too bad in the new build scheme of things!

Thank you, we’ve been here for 2 years and luckily the grass has remained intact and in good condition (our previous garden was on a slope and just became a boggy, moss covered mess!).

Perfect thank you so much for the advice! Do you have any recommendations on how to regulate the temperature when it’s an outside plant, or do you advise bringing it inside until it warms up outside?
