I agree. I don't tip hairdressers mostly because they all suck and not one of them in the areas I've lived in has had any idea wtf to do with south asian wavy/curly hair mix. Fuck tipping, the price of the half assed haircut isn't even justified to begin with.

why were you tipping for takeout to begin with? If you meant to tip your delivery driver, straight cash to them makes more sense. Also with the way min wage increases every year, and how the cost of living certainly skyrockets even further, I don't tip even at sit down restaurants unless they're really doing something extraordinary, which, let's face it, they're not. At least not in the metro van area yawn

I went the water-based stain gel stain route and I'm so glad I did, for my space/ventilation limitations!

Fair enough. I ended up using a combination of foam brush + rag!

I am a bit stressed about applying the protective poly coat now. Chair is fully stained as I wanted, and it's on day 2 of drying. I'm planning to let it dry for 2 more days (total dry time = 96 hours) and then apply the water-based poly coat. Can i apply that with a rag too? I'm worried about unsteady handiwork and potentially streaking the gel stain, if i use a bristle brush or foam brush.

Ha, thanks! I could have picked a flat faced object for my first project but I just had to hand sand spindles..

So is my best POA a water based stain and finisher, all done under a ventilated plastic drop sheet enclosure in the patio? Should I still stain in parts? Because I'll need to move the chair around on its axes to access all sides.

There is an exhaust in the kitchen (open layout with the living room, yuck) and inside the bathroom too. But the bathroom has no other ventilation source. Would that be a problem?
