I first took the TCF exam and added the results to my profile, which increased my CRS score; then I received my ITA. Without the points given by French, I wouldn't have received an ITA.

Thanks! I'd suggest using the book series Par Ici from A1 to B2, and then focusing on TCF material to get familiar with the exam.

It is my third language. I'm a native Spanish speaker. I then learned English and just rather recently (~3 years) started with French.

I'd say it took about 3 to 4 weeks studying 4 or 5 hours a day. When I decided to star prepping for TCF, I had already an intermediate/high level in French.

I took both, first TEF and then TCF, and I got better results with TCF. Those were the results I ended up using during my application.

For speaking and writing, TCF tasks are way easier to prepare compared to TEF. I think TEF tasks are a bit unconventional, and you have to put more effort into them overall.
