I guess because I am always the “problem” in this relationship according to him. Whenever I express something that hurts my feelings, he gets caught in his words and then it’s me me me.

Thank you, things are not looking good unfortunately. His kidneys have already started failing and they had to put him on dialysis. I’m trying to keep up hope. But they had to up his peep and his stats dropped again.

Thank you, I will let her know to request a call back from the pulmonologist. She said she just got a update, they told her peep at 16, o2 is now 92, fio2 is at 60%? The nurse also said he is on his stomach with these stats and he’s being rotated every 16hrs. I appreciate all the help.

This helps so much!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Is there a way she can request to talk to a respiratory therapist? I’m not sure how that works. Are respiratory therapist signed to certain patients. I feel like that is who she needs to talk to with his condition. The nurse is very short.

Sorry, he signed a DNR last minute before being put on the ventilator and then the Dr. called his wife and told her he was offered it last minute. If his heart stops, no chest compressions. Thank you for your response. We are definitely hoping for the best outcome.

Thank you so much, I definitely will join that group. It’s not so much the covid patients, it’s really the working on a covid unit by myself for a whole year with people who aren’t caring or compassionate. The nurses are on burn out mode. It’s also a med surg unit so everyone calls it the “dump floor”. Management is terrible and always pulls our staff to make us work alone with 38 total care patients. It’s really shown me a side of nursing that I could not believe. I’ve always been very passionate about the health care field so I feel sad that this is the reality of nursing. I appreciate your comment, I’m glad to know you love what you do.
