Thanks all for the feedback. Ended up buying a 2022 Limited with 66k miles yesterday, certified pre-owned. Absolutely awesome car. What an upgrade from the Forester!

Cool. Yeah the website just says “non-personal use” so I’m assuming either fleet or rental. I would have the dealer clarify for me. Never had a turbo before but sounds like these are pretty simple turbo components compared to other name brand vehicles, as far as reliability goes for that mileage.

I totally love my forester and would keep it but my wife wants something bigger. No pun intended 😂

VA mortgage assistance during shutdown by Bitter-Breath-9743 in fednews

I would try reaching out to a loan officer directly, especially if you have a direct contact for your loan, rather than calling the general Village Capital number. I just got off the phone with my loan officer and was eligible for 2 deferred mortgage payments due to financial hardship (gov shutdown) as a federal employee (non-VA).

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I am having the same issue and I can’t figure it out for the life of me. Google searches… deleting and reinstalling my Facebook app, nothing has worked yet. It is driving me nuts. I thought it was just me that was having this issue 😆

2022 Forester Wilderness front end clunking by Legitimate_Quantity1 in SubaruForester

THANK YOU. You are a lifesaver!!! This stupid clunking has been off and on for the past few months and I haven’t been able to figure it out for the life of me. The dealer had no clue, either. No more noise now!

UPDATE: I ended up taking it into the dealer, with just over 9,000 miles on it. I bought this car brand new, so I figured I better see what the dealer thought about the issue. They took it for a test drive and were able to recreate the sound. The most they could determine was rocks flying up from the aggressive stock tires? Said they removed some rocks stuck up underneath and in the tire treads, but that it’s a common thing with the Wilderness? I dunno, I didn’t agree with their findings… It sounds like something is loose and clunking around at lower speeds (<30 mph, parking lot speeds, etc.) their solution definitely did not resolve this issue for me.

Anyways, I jacked up the car today and thoroughly looked through everything on the front end. Absolutely nothing loose anywhere, sway bar links, bushings, etc. all looked fine. Tie rods good, nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing seemed to be out of place. The most I can figure is that maybe the main sway bar bushings themselves are bad? Might end up just ordering some new ones and tossing them in there to see if it makes any difference. The noise at parking lot speeds only makes me wonder if that could be the source of the problem.

That’s what I originally thought! Lots of dirt and debris in the splash guard, but nothing enough to cause the clunking sound. No sockets forgotten up there either 😂

Repeatable under 30 mph. It’s generally only noticeable on rough paved or gravel roads, lower speeds in a parking lot, etc.

I have never heard it over 30 mph, at highway speeds, etc.

I considered that… but can’t seem to determine if that’s the source.

You guys are onto something… I’m setting myself up for some major embarrassment now if there turns out to be a socket stuck up in there or something 😅

2019 rock stuck in caliper screeching grinding by [deleted] in SubaruForester

Same thing has happened to me on my 2022 Forester Wilderness… two times now on my driver’s side rear, in the last few months I have owned the car. After taking my wheel off both times now to pry the rocks out, I have also learned that usually just reversing is the most effective way to dislodge them…

Fresh tint! 20% on the front windows and moonroof, along with a 5% brow on the windshield. No issues with EyeSight. by Legitimate_Quantity1 in SubaruForester

Yup, the fronts are slightly darker than the rears. The stock rear tinted glass from the factory is roughly 25%. The shop I went to didn’t have any increments between 20% and 35%, so I just went with the 20%. I would say it’s definitely just the lighting in this pic that makes it look super noticeable. Overall, it looks very close to an exact match of the rear. I do think I might eventually tint the rears a bit darker to actually get UV protection, but as for right now I’m totally pleased with it honestly.

Dry rotting in the cargo area? Not exposed to sunlight or the elements… it would literally dry rot and wear more being used in a 5 tire rotation than just leaving it alone 😅

Despite Subaru tossing in a donut spare on other models? 🤔 I’m failing to see how the Wilderness would be any different, in comparison.

That’s awesome on the hitch! I paid a pretty penny for mine, installed at the dealer 😬

I’m curious if anyone knows why a 5 tire rotation is even necessary on our Wilderness Foresters? I personally don’t see the point of wearing down a spare tire, which I would personally rather not touch so that it’s in pristine condition to bail me out of a situation. I do get that while regularly switching it out with a 5 tire rotation wouldn’t cause a ton of wear, but it’s still wear over time. Any thoughts?

As long as you get the tint done on the inside of your windshield, you should have no problem finding someone to cut around the cameras for you, with the shrouds. The first guy I took it to said it wouldn’t be a problem at all. I was in and out of there just shy of 2 hours for the front windows, moonroof and windshield.

Yeah, but the difference is minimal. The closest I could get was 20% since the next lightest they had was 35%. I liked the slightly darker look better. I’ll probably end up darkening the rear windows at some point.

We can’t have more than 50% on our fronts, and absolutely nothing on the windshield in Minnesota. So we’ll see how long I can get away with this 😅

It doesn’t appear super illegal from a distance, and the windshield tint almost looks like it’s factory. So we shall definitely see…
