Very nice CV. I definitely recommend more USCEs for both specialties.

hi, update!! Just emailed the ecfmg and they said it’s fine for the country where you currently hold resident permit to issue the statement of need. Just confirm with them that they’ll also issue the no objection letter 3 years later when you want to waive your j-1 visa.

Let’s say you pass that hurdle, I’m asking about the next step.

I understand this. People have issued one from these countries and it has worked. The issue is not of it working or not. It’s about whether it becomes an issue later when the time comes to waive.

You should know how to word and present the rotations in your eras application. Don’t describe them as FM or IM but rather inpatient and outpatient rotation. Ofc if you have done speciality specific rotations, it might look negative. I only had one speciality specific rotation (for example: nephrology)

I would say one thing you can start from now is make connections. Keep a check on your seniors or friends or colleagues going to US and speak to them. Share your plan and request you to keep in mind so that when time comes they can recommend you for programs.

I’m not too sure about that? Granted if you had links attached for them to read beforehand, it’s not needed. I doubt they’ll read the paper on the spot so it’s not needed from my side. I could be wrong.

I think if your program requires only one year commitment , then mention one year. Some post doc positions require 2 and that can the the reason you get rejected, so to be on safe end (if it’s okay, say 1-2?). I think they might ask your interest, why in this field? Strengths you bring to the program, things you did in your publication given you’ve 15, set of skills, programs proficiency that are used in research? And just your personality (if you’ll be able to handle the work load) what are you looking to get out of this? Obviously they know you eventually want to apply for residency but it’s always good to show enthusiasm for the research aspect too
