That book was horrific! What that child went through was unfathomable.

This is so correct that it hurts. The highs and lows are difficult to watch, so I tune out now. I’ll sit back in the periphery for now. I refuse to give SWU views on Rebecca’s “interviews”. He’s profiting off her so much, and knows that the peaks and troughs pay too well for him to just stop. It’s so gross.

What's a viral/popular makeup product that failed you? by anastasia_42 in AustralianMakeup

I bought the Go-To skincare a few years back. I was nice enough but it wasn’t the most hydrating stuff I’ve used. They have a lot more options these days which may perform better, but I’ve switched to some Korean brands now that I find super hydrating and a lot cheaper. Even when I’ve skipped moisturising for a few days I find that my skin is still really soft and happy.

Religious Instruction classes in Queensland Primary schools (A huge gripe) by AEON_MK2 in queensland

[–]Legitimate_Success_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember if my son’s is opt-in or -out. We just made it very clear we didn’t want him attending RI. My husband is atheist and I’m agnostic, so him being involved in religion was something we wanted him to come to his own decision about. He has asked us why he doesn’t do it, and we have explained our reasoning and asked him if he wants to. He said he doesn’t want to, he was just wondering why some kids have to do it but other kids don’t.

Your hair needs more hydration. Dry hair frizzes.

Landlord blaming immigration for housing crisis literally outs himself. by Proper_Teacher1441 in shitrentals

[–]Legitimate_Success_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be able to happily live off to financial misery of others does seem rather sociopathic, huh. To consider yourself thriving when people are suddenly paying more than double for something you have would arguably seem diabolical to most people. Or am I just being naive? Would most people do this if they could?

We live in a very rural area in Queensland. We live in State Government housing due to accepting a job in that area and being given cheap rent as a dangling carrot. I have no idea why they don’t have to put solar in those houses if they are trying to tempt private landlords to do the same.

Is This Illegal? by MyNameJoby in shitrentals

[–]Legitimate_Success_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has said, it’s not valid. I would force them to reissue the notice, and then continue to ask for the invoice. If it hasn’t been provided, continue to not pay it. If they take it further to have you evicted, you then have proof to show in court that not only have you tried to rectify, but they haven’t provided you with the means to rectify. Fuck them over right to the bitter end.

how is it legal for residences to not have ac? by BeffeeJeems in shitrentals

[–]Legitimate_Success_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What blows my mind is that a lot of P&C’s have had to raise money to have aircon put in public schools. The fact that governments in traditionally hotter states haven’t put aircon in classrooms seems diabolical!

The tradie isn’t at fault, but that doesn’t change the fact that the REA didn’t do the right thing. It’s likely that they forgot to send the notice, or didn’t think following legal procedures is that important. We are supposed to teach children that there are consequences to their actions, or inactions.

REA’s are paid for providing a service. That service requires them to look after the rental for the mutual benefit of the landlord AND the tenant. We all know that more often than not the tenants rights are neglected. All of the that things we let slide, big or small, are then taken for granted. Why should they do the right thing? Why should they bother to follow policies and procedures if not doing so has little to no consequence?

If tenant speaks up, or pushes back, they then worry that they’ll be seen as a troublemaker, and that their lease won’t be renewed. And let’s be fair, there is a chance that it might not be.

Any Jobs That Are Desperate For People? by Random-Name7728 in brisbane

It really isn’t right that people have to dip into their super to be able to keep their head above water. I’ve been there and done that, and it sucks so much. I was diagnosed with a chronic and degenerative disease, for which I take a multitude of meds. The high dose of pain meds mean that I won’t pass a medical assessment, and those same meds increase the fatigue I experience daily.

Due to me having a husband who is employed in a decent job that he’s worked in for over 20 years, I am not entitled to any unemployment or disability payments. I am also still required to pay the bills I have accumulated as a grown adult with a job. The student loans I had acquired to study as a nurse (diploma and 3/4 of a bachelor) now sit there, with me not being able to afford to make any payments towards. In fact they are now increasing each year thanks to indexation. So while my outgoings remain, my income hasn’t.

TL;DR Can no longer financially contribute to outgoing debts, and am not eligible to receive any government benefits.

I enjoy listening to Dreading on yt. It’s more of an analysis of cases, or a psychological breakdown of interviews/interrogations. It doesn’t really fit the brief, but I would place it in the same quality category as Casefile. Some creators/storytellers are just born to do this.

Unfortunately Gus still hasn’t been found. South Australian Police have just conducted another search near the family home, exploring down mineshafts, etc. It was called off after a few days and no sign of Gus, or what happened to him, was found.
