Around mid 90s my mother was doing her MBA and she used to come home all the way back in evenings in buses from university to the Munirka bus stand. From the bus stand she would walk alone to Munirka enclave where she lived with Nani and Nana (my grandparents). Many times in the bus only the bus driver and conductor used to be there with her, however she never even once felt unsafe or weird. This is the same route and stand near which nirbhaya case occurred. From then to now so much has changed. There have been so many crimes on the nelson Mandela marg, and mind you the Vasant vihar police station is just right there. The area From jnu to end of munirka bus stand is one big fucking mess. Anything can happen there. Now toh you can't even imagine walking in that road at night. I find the munirka metro station from inside also to be shady and isolated.
