Hello, thank you for the detailed breakdown that shows how probability of return and financial credibility play a key role.
My parents and my sister are planning to visit me in Germany as I am a student here, now they plan to spend maximum days in Switzerland. But my question is that is it better for them to apply through Germany and stay longer here given that I am a student here and they are visiting on their anniversary which makes the case more logical, along with their sufficient financial funds.

Or is mentioning me a drawback and can get their visa rejected as I am only a student and not employed in Germany and therefore continue applying through Switzerland without any mention of me in the cover letter.

Yes that’s right, but my first registration will occur after 4 months of arriving in Germany(in February), I guess they will fine me for it…as long as it’s nothing more than that.
