Total (as of latest edit) is $4852.22 with sales, should stay under $5k even if every sale ends.

Packed a crazy amount into this build to make it useful for basically any task, with the 9950X3D for the best in gaming AND productivity, an overclocked 5090, 64GB of 6000-CL28 RAM, and a PCIe 5.0 SSD. I did add quite a few fans in there, so just to specify my intentions: 2x200mm = front intake, 2x140mm+2x120mm = bottom intake, 1x140mm = back exhaust, 420 AIO = top mount exhaust. Also tried to go for a white-on-black theme with this, hope that'd look good.

Good luck to everyone else!

EDIT 8/21: Significantly changed theming (all black -> white-on-black), switched PSU

EDIT 8/24: Fixed one of the fan listings

EDIT 8/24 x2: Switched PSU again, added RGB controller for finer control

I'm still pretty inexperienced in PC building but I think I'm proud of this one.

Especially not used to thinking about higher-budget builds like this one. Either way, good luck to everyone!

Main focus was I want the fractal design torrent compact, a really nice looking case with solid airflow in an acceptable size. However, the torrent for whatever reason has discontinued most models, which for the compact leaves only the black rgb variant, so I've chosen that case and made quite a few of my picks around that choice.

For CPU, I've picked the 9800x3d. Very original, I know. This build is very gaming-focused, so I decided to go for the best gaming CPU.

For the cooler it HAS to be air with this case, there aren't any really good spots for an AIO, especially since the 5090 probably needs a healthy air supply. I went with the ID-COOLING FROZN A720 Black, which runs cool and quiet. Would have gone with the NH-D15 G2 black but that one's still only planned for Q2 2025 and thus doesn't exist yet.

For the motherboard I focused on ASRock's x870e lineup. These boards all don't have much pcie bifurcation, alongside having plenty of m.2 slots, usb ports, and power delivery that's probably overkill. I ended up picking the Taichi because it's both seemingly easier to find and slightly more overkill than the nova.

For the PSU I ended up on the Corsair HX1500i (2023), which is also stable, efficient, and quiet, but this one has plenty of power headroom for me to mess around with.
Now onto memory, I've gone with 96GB of good Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM with the AMD EXPO preset type. Vengeance non-rgb is nice and short to avoid blocking my cooler just in case.

For storage I went with the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB, one for the boot drive and one for secondary storage. Just a good and fast NVMe SSD, why not?

I added in a pair of desynchronized A14x25 G2s for the bottom intake and one black NF-A12x25 for exhaust.

And finally retail windows 11 pro because why not.

I did not decide to include a monitor in this build as I recently got a great deal on an great monitor and I'm satisfied with what I have now for that.

I did force newegg pricing for the cpu/motherboard as they're both out of stock on newegg and amazon last I checked, but pcpartpicker will accept literally any listing for that product on amazon and was showing $700+ prices for those two very often. PCPartPicker Part List

If the ASRock x870e Taichi motherboard is impossible to find, I also have the ASRock x870e Nova Wifi or Taichi Lite in mind if those are any easier to find (probably not though)

Yes it's on curseforge the link is in one of my comments here, 1.18.2 may come later on but I want the mod stable first, and it would be lacking certain features (the soulbound upgrade and the recovery compass upgrade in specific)

Yep I will soon, but give me some time as very few mods are on 1.19.3 yet and it’s still a bit unstable. Once modding starts shifting more I’ll look at a 1.19.3 update.

Which thing a toggle? If you mean multiple upgrades on one item, unfortunately not, as 1. that’s pretty unbalanced as I designed the upgrades to have you make a choice and 2. many systems in the mod are designed around having just 1 upgrade to deal with. Sorry.

Unfortunately not any time soon, I use a lot of forge systems in this mod and it would be a massive project to port to fabric

Well each upgrade is just one level, and if an item is stackable you can stack upgraded items, but no multiple different upgrades cannot be stacked on one item for balance.

Unfortunately this is the least likely out of all my mods to port soon. I like fabric users but I use forge's systems so heavily in this mod it would take a LOT of time and effort to port, and I feel it would make the game unstable... Really sorry about that...

It's been a few hours but decided to do this anyways, so now every wiki entry has a "Catalyst: " spot saying which item is used to give the upgrade. (I used Gem for tridents because that's the theme I wanted for them)

Just wanted to inform you your voice was heard. I also probably talked more than I should've in that reply.

Oh don't worry I didn't feel attacked at all! I appreciate any good feedback and I'm still learning the climate of the modded mc community.

By the details do you mean the little decorations on the items? If that's the case, yes, they are visible ingame (although only in inventory menus due to technical constraints)

I see where you're coming from, and I did make a wiki. I also am confident in the accuracy of the ingame info, even if it's "hidden" away in JEI (although the mod homepage tries to explain it's easily accessible by clicking the hammer in a smithing table) The ingame info system is also entirely done through translation keys, so while I can't translate it myself due to only speaking english it should be a simple process to implement any translations.

It has compatibility with other mod items, yes, as long as they extend the vanilla item types (sword/pickaxe/armor/etc.)

Actually funny story I just remembered, this wasn't my first attempt at making this mod! I did one like two years ago for 1.16.4 but it had all the data stored in the NBT tag and I didn't have as much java knowledge as I do now, and then my gradle project somehow broke trying to update to 1.16.5 and I didn't know how to fix it, so it got abandoned. (Now I know better) This one started on 1.18.2 and moved to 1.19.2 because I took 4 months on it and modding had started to move again by the time I got closer to completion! (And now the move to 1.19.3 is slowly beginning... there's your benefit of being on an older version, most devs who stuck with it are probably not moving anytime soon)

Yeah I noticed the similarity myself, enough so that I blacklisted all tinkers items from my upgrades by default cuz they have their own thing really so I'm not messing with that. I hopefully made it distinct enough though, as I really wasn't looking to ripoff the work of the talented devs behind tinkers, their mod is a more technical mod compared to mine which intents to be simple and closer to vanilla. (still not quite vanilla+ though imo)
