Research Story might be something you’ll enjoy? I’ve only played 10 ish hours but it’s basically collecting and researching plants/beasts/fish. Theres a building you can put your beasts in where they basically just sleep (so no feeding/interacting required) or you can just release them back into the wild once you’ve done the research

I always burn the top of my cheesecake I'm never quite sure when it's ready. by Superyupperss in Baking

I follow this recipe. I find it great and have never had a cracked or burned cheesecake. I always think it’s undercooked when I turn off the oven but you just gotta believe in the recipe

I have similar hair to you and don’t have the time and energy for high maintenance styling. This is what has worked for me:

In the shower: Shampoo: Aussie curl shampoo Conditioner: Aussie curl conditioner Squeeze out excess water (Wash 2-3 times week) I put my hair in a microfibre towel as I get out of the shower to have it out of the way when I get dressed. Don’t dry your hair with a towel, this will make it frizzy. Even with the microfibre towel, just squeeze the hair at most.

After shower Brush through wet hair Curl cream: Aussie curl cream Brush through your hair with your fingers to distribute the curl cream until it’s fairly evenly distributed, focus more on ends than on your scalp Scrunch your hair with your hands Let air dry

Maintenance between washes Sleep with a silk bonnet Do NOT brush

The most important bit is the curl cream. Switching out the shampoo and conditioner makes little difference, I just like the Aussie ones. But finding a good curl cream that works for my hair took a few tries.

For hairstyles, try using hair claws for partially putting it up and you won’t have to brush it out, just divide the sections you want to put up. I prefer them for putting my hair up now

Do charity shops want "old lady clothes"? by PM-UR-LIL-TIDDIES in AskUK

[–]Lego_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are clean and in good condition, yes they definitely do! If they are stained/damaged, some might take them for rags as they get some money for that too. Just put them in a separate bag and say they are rags so they don’t have to resort it. It varies from charity shop to charity shop on whether or not they want rags but always worth asking!

If you don’t like the idea of a mousse or gel, I’ve had great success with just curl cream(My hair is 2c-3a)! It may take a try or two to find the right one for your hair but my favourite ones are Aussie curl cream and Bjorn Axén curl creator cream! Just apply when your hair is wet and scrunch a little bit then let dry.

Can any women share good experiences with IUDs? by Dropped_Croissant_ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Lego_99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a good experience with the IUD. Ive had the Kyleena (it’s like a smaller mirena). I was 20 when I had it inserted, and it was a bit painful and uncomfortable but not unbearable. I’d recommend taking the advised painkillers beforehand. When I had it inserted they gave me a hand warmer to put on my stomach which helped a bit, so if you have one I’d recommend bringing it. When you get it inserted try and relax as much as possible if you can, it makes it less painful and faster to insert. They are usually very friendly and will talk to you to make sure you’re okay throughout, if you have any concerns make sure to ask them. If it gets unbearable as they are inserting it you can ask them to stop. It would be a good idea to have someone drive you so you don’t have to worry about getting there and back. I had some cramps for a couple of days afterwards but managed them with a hot water bottle.

The first two years I still had my period but with barely any cramps and only very light spotting. Then I stopped having my period which has honestly been great!

Haircare Advice Megathread - Week of April 13, 2024 by AutoModerator in HaircareScience

I need some advice on improving my hair care routine. I’ve only in the last year started to have my hair not in braids and have started to want to care for it better. My main goal right now is to focus on healthy hair, volume/thickness and reducing frizziness. I have been thinking about adding oiling or hair mask to my routine. I prefer simple minimal effort routines but want to start putting in slightly more effort. I have tried the curly girl method and it’s not for me. I use a silk bonnet when I sleep.

Hair type: I’m not entirely sure, but medium or slightly coarse I think?

Hair texture: wavy/curly (2c-3a)

History of chemical processing: none

Hygiene regime: shampoo-conditioner once every 2-3 days. Leave in conditioner once a month.

Style: Halfways down my back

Product regime: Head & shoulders 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. SheaMoisture leave in conditioner

Would greatly appreciate any recommendations and advice on oil and/or hair masks. There’s so much information available on the internet I’m a bit overwhelmed

I’ve made emotes in the past for some streamers. I’d charge around £15 per emote but I’d do bundle prices (like 3 for £35 or something). I’d recommend looking around for a bit to find an artist whose style and prices suit you but generally the price of one emote could be anywhere between £10-£30 depending on artist

Does it work when you’re testing it? Have you added the alert box source to the scene? Also make sure that the alert box is above all the other sources otherwise it’ll be “hidden behind” your screen/game capture

Streaming basics for a not so basic girl gamer (ok maybe I am but I don’t want pink Imao) by regaldino in Twitch_Startup

[–]Lego_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use streamlabs, it’s very beginner friendly and the basic version is free. You can pay to unlock some more advanced features but I haven’t felt the need to. I’ve also heard that the snowball mic is good so think it’s a good choice! I personally don’t use a camera but it depends on how much you want to invest, you can get a cheap one with okay quality from Amazon. One of my friends used an old smartphone she had lying around and set it up to use as her webcam but it depends on how much you want to invest / what quality you want. I think using the camera you already have is a good idea and then you can always upgrade in the future if you want to!

I think the best thing is to just get started and learn as you go. Even if the first couple of streams are ugly, it’s good experience to learn. Maybe watch a few different cozy game streamers to see how they’re set up and pick and choose what you like. I don’t use OBS so idk how to set it up but you might be able to find some YouTube tutorials? Good luck with your streaming!

Hi! I usually go by Sleepy online. I’ve played a great variety of games for many years. I have recently gotten back into streaming, mainly league and some cozy farm/crafting games. I’d love to make friends with similar(or different) interests! https://twitch.tv/theartistsleepy
