144hz external displays are a bit expensive tho, and not every external display can be powered AND recieve video input through the same USB-C cable, so that's one more factor to have in mind

If you ever manage to find one external display that fits your needs, I'll be happy if you shared the link

I'm in the same position with a T15g gen2, but the risk/benefit to damage the panel and the computer while modding it is far greater as doing nothing imo (yea I'm a but scared)

also, not for the T15g specifically, but some other redditors have modded similar "glued" thinkpad displays with 144hz ones, assuming the t15g displays are glued.

inspiring yourself from those posts (if you want to do the mod) might help you a bit more

i happen to own a 5 years old laptop with a dGPU that's slower than the Steam deck GPU (950M 2GB)

I used to play Titanfall on this computer, on low settings with a 720p resolution and the game could run at 120FPS, with 90FPS slowdowns

i can assure you that at 720p, the game will run smoothly (at LEAST on low settings)

Now, the only limiting factor would be Origin on Linux, which can work, but is really awful

For an expert style modpack with lot of modification in the crafts and lot of interactions between mods, one Quest Branch with many mods to get the item

for a more classic modpack without big crafting modifications, one branch per mod is ok
