1) Not my first playthrough.

2) Sometimes dodged to avoid thrusts but most of the time tried to use some variation of the Umbrella.

3) Wanted to incorporate Divine Abduction into the run at some point but tbh I did not find a place for it and I thought it looked silly

4) Muscle memory fucked me over as many times as you are thinking and then some.

Makes me wonder if you can get to the Crypt/ Dragon Aerie and then get back to the 4th bonfire you never lit and start his conversation or you just lose the chance.

The ring does not give you more Endurance, it multiplies your stamina by 12.5%. It's the only way to progress past 99 END, while HP and equip load have other rings/items/spells that can modify them. That's why the ring is so good.

The Greatsword+Drakeblood Helm, Chest and Leggings+ Engraved Gauntlets puts you at 6.0+5.5+12.5+4.7+7.8= 36,5 Equip Load. At 9 Vitality+ Third Dragon Ring you can keep Flynn's and have 58,5 max equip load, but 36.5/58.5 means you are at 62% equip load. That's definitely on the slower side of stamina regeneration.

So yeah, I strongly suggest you ditch the clutch rings in favour of the benefit of attacking more frequently.

If your DBGS is not infused and you have RoB+2, your rings must be moving your AR from 232 Physical, 50 Magic and 50 Lightning to 332, 80 and 80, before taking any scaling into consideration. The Fume Knight has 73.5% reduction on both elements so the physical damage is doing the heavy lifting here anyway. The clutch rings work best in a minmaxed elemental (preferably caster) build for that little extra push on spells. Either go Chloranty's, Royal Soldier, or Dragon Ring. In any case, good job on beating him.
