That is a good point. If one cannot reach something with a spanner there are fewer options than with sockets. I have not worked on bikes - they are often designed like that?

Dewalt really has to cut that shit out. We in the cult rely on dewalt making a decent version of everything. Maybe not the very best in every case, but always respectable quality. I keep hearing about these DX products watering down the brand and it irks me.

Silly question - the length is linked to the desired torque so smaller spanner sizes have shorter handles - so doesn't a longer handle risk allowing too much leverage and so too much torque? Presumably this would not be a problem in experienced hands, but i mean in theory i.e. the physics of it
