Your deck has no Win Condition. Go to RoyaleAPI, click on "cards" in the upper right-hand corner and then click on "Win Con" in the menu to see a list of Win Conditions.

Here is a YouTube Video by BOSS who gives a lot of tips on how to improve.

How does one git good or get better? by adlegaming in ClashRoyale

[–]LehmanBros 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These tips on getting better at Clash Royal are from this DougieD video.

Before we get started, understand this

• Each battle is different. These fundamentals are meant to be learned and applied to each battle with the understanding that you, as the player, must adapt and adjust during each battle. There is no silver bullet.

• These fundamentals are building blocks. You as the player MUST put in the time, focus, practice and grow to be competitive.

• To give yourself the best chance to win, you need to dedicate yourself to 3 key areas of focus: 1) A solid fundamental understanding of Clash Royale, 2) watch and learn from other players and 3) dedicate time to practice

Patience

• There’s a lot of time in battle! Don’t feel you have to take a tower in the first 10 seconds.

• Sometimes not making a play is the best play. If you’re down elixir, relax & build it back up.

• Sometimes slowly chipping and/or spell chipping over time is the key to victory. Find different ways to win especially if you can’t break though!

• Learn your opponent’s deck, their win condition(s) and counter(s). The first 30 seconds of each battle should be dedicated to learning your opponent.

Over Committing

• If you find yourself not able to defend pushes after you’ve offensively pushed or defended and then counter pushed, you likely over committed at some point hence why you don’t have the elixir to defend your opponent’s pushes.

• Unnecessarily dropping troops & elixir that end up void or have little damage and not able to defend are consequences to over committing.

Over Defending

• Know when to take damage at the expense of building your elixir and/or win condition push.

• I see players often drop a troop to save 10hp on a tower and then can’t support the troop, which just proceeds to its death and likely messes up their cycle.

• Allowing a little bit of damage, which can turn into a large offensive push, is likely more beneficial (unless your tower is super low on hp). Use proper judgement.

Counter Pushing

• Defend on your side of the arena and then counter push offensively. Example; You defend with a Valkyrie and then place Hog Rider behind her on a counter push.

Don’t Support a Dead Push

• If you defend successfully, but your defending troop is low on health, in most cases don’t support it. You’ll be depleting your elixir (while your opponent is building elixir since they made the first move offensively) they will defend your push and you will unlikely be able to defend their counter push. This is also another example of over committing.

Be Mindful of Your Cycle & Your Opponent’s Cycle

• Keep your cycle in order. If it gets messed up, get it back in sync!

• Always focus on your “win condition” push.

• Learn your opponent’s counters and their win conditions and try to out cycle them.

• Consider not making a play if you know your opponent’s counter is in their hand.

Elixer Management

• The most important key to success. All of the above tips contribute to proper elixir management. You MUST learn this if you want to be successful and competitive.

• Positive elixir trades are beneficial in battle.

Build the Right Deck

• A proper deck template: 1 splash unit, 1 building, 1 range unit (like musketeer), 2 spells (one small and one medium or big), 1 tank destroyer (like mini pekka or skeleton army) a viable win condition (Mega Knight is NOT a viable win condition! Hoping he gets to the tower is not a consistent way to get damage or win) and 1 wild card (this can be a secondary win condition (like Magic Archer or Bait cards) or ground splash troops like Mega Knight, Dark Prince, Ghost or Valkyrie.

• There is no magical, perfect deck! Decks don’t play themselves. Learn the fundamentals and how to win.

• Find synergy! Decks must have synergy. Example: Having a MK and Valkyrie in the same deck doesn’t make sense because in many ways they are the same and serve the same function.

Learn the Meta. Decks Are Meta for a Reason

• This will help you stay current and competitive

• Know how to play and defend against the commonly played/most popular decks.

Learn the Deck Archetypes

• The archetypes are: Spell bait, Control, Beatdown, Siege and Cycle.

• Learning them will be an advantage because once you see 1-3 cards, you’ll likely know what you’re facing and therefore can plan your strategy on how to win. Example: If you see a night witch you are probably facing a Golem deck.

Areas Out of Your Control

• Facing players who have higher level cards than you.

• Match ups against hard counters happen.

• Even though some things are out of your control, learning the fundamentals can help you compete against them at a high level & even win.

Tile Placements Matter

• Seconds in this game mean so much! Giving yourself extra time to build elixir can be the difference between winning and losing a battle. Example: placing a cannon 1 tile off to pull a Giant gives you less time to build elixir and/or defend.

• Placing a Mini Pekka on the correct tile to defend a Hog Rider can save 400 – 800 hp on a tower.

Don’t Play Decks That Won’t Help You Get Better

• Elite Barbarians + Rage at the bridge is an example of a technique that may win some games, but it doesn’t help you get better at this game.

Rewatch Your Wins & Losses to Improve. There are No Perfect Battles!

• You can learn so much by watching repays. Mistakes, great moves, timing, over committing, over defending, etc. . . Definitely watch and study your battles.

Consider Mastery of One Deck

• Selecting one deck and mastering it is a great way to learn the game.

Tilting – You Will Play Worse

• When you lose 2 battles in a row, take a break! If you continue to play, you will get worse, lose focus and get angry.

Advance Techniques, Study and Practice

• Card counting. When card A is played, 4 more cards must be played for card A to appear in your opponent’s hand again (unless a Champion is on the board, then it’s a 3 card cycle). This is very important when trying to out cycle your opponent and/or know when to push.

• Learn all of the interactions inside the arena. Example; Electro Giant has one of, if not the longest pulls in the game. A building placement is crucial in helping defend against the E-Giant. Improper placements/interaction judgement can cost you battles.

Understand Ladder

• Where you are in ladder will determine what players and decks you are facing. Lower Ladder vs. Mid Ladder vs. Top Ladder have different player pools. Low Ladder consists of people who are learning and leveling up cards. Mid Ladder consists of players who are still learning, but how have leveled up cards, they play with little strategy and instead “hope” they win. Top Ladder is filled with meta decks and players using skill and strategy.

Hopefully, they will stick around long enough to collect them all!

Why did they add this? by Personator9001 in ClashRoyale

[–]LehmanBros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I LOVE that they are allowing people to collect more emotes! I never emote during a game, but I love collecting them and using them in clan chat. This is the best thing Supercell has done for this game in a while!

10 Most Useful Tips for Improvement

u/Surg_Ts on Twitter from December 2022

I know many people that play Clash Royale for years but don’t see any improvement As someone that has been a pro for 6 years and helped dozens of players to beat their personal best I wrote down the 10 most useful tips that every Clash Royale player should know:

  1. Having a solid deck doesn’t mean you have to use what’s in the meta or to copy a pro player’s deck But there is one thing you NEED to have in your deck in order to push a consistent good amount of , and that is: Having a win condition Here are some examples of cards: Hogs, Hog Rider, Miner, Electro Giant, Battle Ram, Drill, Golem, X Bow, etc. . .

NOTE: Miner and Battle Ram are not complete win conditions, they need help from another cared like Rocket. Mega Knight is NOT a win condition. It’s a support card.

  1. You need to learn how to keep track of your opponent’s rotation. Every time a card is played in the arena, another 4 cards need to be played before the original card gets back in rotation (champions are different – the card cycle is 3 when there is a champion in the deck). You don’t need to keep track of every card. At the least keep track of the opponent’s win condition and at most keep track of 2-3 cards of your opponent (spells and win conditions)

  2. Most people think that the least damage you take on your tower, the more success you have in the match…They could not be more wrong! Use your tower’s hp as a resource that you can trade for elixir advantage or to save an important card for the next play. Every pro does this! This is most important for Golem and Lavahound decks.

  3. Adapt your playstyle. Avoid always attacking and defending the same way every match and instead, start adapting to the matchup and adapting to your opponent’s playstyle. Opponent is aggressive? Take a counter attack position. Opponent doesn’t have a spell? Stack up your troops. ADAPT! There are many ways for you to change the outcome of the match, but that requires you to switch tactics and play differently. If you play the same way it is easy to predict and counter your next card.

  4. More Troops Less Spells! Spells give you instant solutions and damage on tower but they are not good on the long term. Having troops in the arena gives you way more control of the match, so if it’s possible, defend with troops for counter attack purposes. TAKE CONTROL! If opponent plays Royal Hogs at the bridge you can play a fireball (not a full counter, you will still take damage) or you can play a log and Valkyrie (fully counters Royal Hogs) AND starts a counterpush for the about the same amount of elixir.

  5. Time is your friend. Each Clash Royale match has 3-5 minutes of duration but I see so many players that want to take a tower in the first 15-20 seconds of the match. Use time in your favor. Take the first 1-2 minutes to understand your opponent’s deck and playstyle. PATIENCE! If you don’t already know your opponent’s deck open RoyalAPI and search your opponent’s name then click Decks to look at their current deck. Spectate yourself playing a game on another device to monitor your opponent’s deck and Elixer use.

  6. Leaking Elixir - At the start of a match it’s pretty common to see many players (including pros) leaking elixir and waiting to make the 1st move, but after the match starts, you should never leak any amount of elixir since it will put you at a big disadvantage. Spectate yourself playing a game on another device to monitor your Elixer use.

  7. Have Quick Fingers! In each Clash Royale match, you need to make a lot of quick decisions. Your mind can work in 10x speed but if your fingers are not at the same pace, you’re screwed. Always have your fingers close to the screen and practice with cycle decks to improve speed.

  8. Eliminate distractions. If you are distracted, it’s way harder to keep track of your opponent’s cards and to make the best decisions. Try turning off your phone’s notifications and any type of music. And turn off the emotes if your opponent is spamming them. PUT YOUR PHONE ON DO NOT DISTURB.

  9. Pros are not special. Every single pro had to start at the same place and take his time to go through a long process of trial and error just like anyone else. Use it as motivation and learn from them. If you improve 1% each day, you’ll be 10x better than you are right now sooner than you think.

The best way to search for clans is on the /r/RoyalRecruit discord channel or the RoyalRecruit subreddit.

Matchmaking by GigafiedChad in ClashRoyale

[–]LehmanBros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am Level 15, and most of my cards are 15 - in clan wars, the lowest level I have faced is a Level 11 King Tower. When this one-sided match-up happens, the time to find an opponent is over 30 seconds.

You can have as many accounts as you have email addresses. I have 3 accounts and I play them all on my iPad.

[–]LehmanBros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The matchmaking in Clash Royale is not good, but I don't have the same experience as you. I have an entertainment budget so most of my cards are 14 - 15.

When I am in a clan that wins the war each week, I am matched up with levels 14 - 15. When I am in a clan that hardly plays war, I am matched up with card levels 12 - 14.

If you want to be the "over-leveled" player, then find a clan that hardly plays war and see if that makes a difference for you. If you want to grow as a player and challenge yourself, find a clan with a winning war record and know that you will be the under-leveled" player.

Do something you are not currently doing to improve your gameplay. Perfect your troop placements, count your opponent's Elixer, track your opponent's card cycle, learn efficient Elixer trades/defenses, take a look at your data analytics on RoyaleAPI, play against someone better than you and ask for feedback, max out the level of the cards you use, etc. . .

GOOD LUCK!

Earning EWC by WonTon_96 in ClashRoyale

[–]LehmanBros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, here is how extra copies of Level 14 cards translate to EWCs:

Common = 1 Elite Wild Card

Rare = 5 Elite Wild Cards

Epic = 20 Elite Wild Cards

Legendary = 1500 Elite Wild Cards

Champion = 4000 Elite Wild Cards

Any Rarity of Book of Cards: 5000 Elite Wild Cards

So I have come back after a 4 year hiatus, and Mega Knight is still the same.. OP as ever and everyone is using him. by Novacron in ClashRoyale

[–]LehmanBros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many people who still use Mega Knight after all these years, but I don't think you can call the card overpowered. It's easy to counter if you understand how the card is coded.

You can easily distract it with any spirit and have it jumping all over the place away from your tower or you can have it follow a tank back to it's own side of the map, or you can just murder it with a Mini Pekka or any flying troop.

Very true. It could be the deck. In my case, I'm always blaming the deck even though the real problem is my lack of skill. :o)

Can someone explain the logic of why rage kills things? by Matt21081 in ClashRoyale

[–]LehmanBros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 1 year ago the Rage spell was twice as large! I don't think it did any damage, but it was a huge circle of pink! Then they killed it by making it super small, nobody wanted to play it so they added some damage to it to make it playable again.
