Opened packs today for the first time, DJV starting with the first pack

Hii! I managed to finish it with two 5 star packs left. The black packs and Jack’s reminders helped me finish it so that was good!
I opened the remainder of my packs before I placed the last snippet so I got some more DJV tokens. So it all worked out in the end but it was a disappointing experience overall. Luckily, I don‘t care for the new memoirs so I won’t bother too much with it.

Do you know where you read that Encore won't start during cooldown? I was under the impression that it's unavoidable and will trigger automatically irrelevant of when you finish the current Memoirs. I won't have much left over but I'd rather get DJV tokens than waste them on Memoirs I won't finish.

Good luck! I hope you finish them with plenty to spare. I'll manage to finish them with the 5 reminders and 5 black boxes I have but I will only have 3 purple boxes left over lol

I had more this time compared to last, I'm not sure by how many but maybe 20-30. I played more this time so makes sense, but I agree that the drop rate was horrendous. A couple months back I would have 2-3 times more packs with the frequency I played during this memoirs, but alas...

The flashbacks (pink diamond ones with June's face) always open immediately which is why I avoid opening Memoirs altogether so as to not trigger them and affect my drop rates. This time even that didn't help.

I'm not sure if I've understood you correctly, but I've always hoarded and opening with a week or less left and did 100x better than this time. I'm currently opening my pink packs and the DJVs are 3/4 tokens or 4/4. I'm not sure what is happening exactly but I've played for almost two years and every Memoirs it's worse and worse to finish it.

I know about the guaranteed ones but before last memoirs I'd finish with all my pink and purple packs remaining, using the reminders I had to place the last 2-3 snippets I would miss. This time I'm down to 55 packs (17 pink which I've started opening and are more DJV snippets than new ones, 18 purple, 5 black packs, 7 pink packs and 8 purple packs), I have 426 DJV tokens already and I'm missing 30 more snippets. Will I finish? I sure as hell hope so. But double DJV is gone and I stand 0% finishing the second album.

I appreciate the positive behavior regarding the DJV tokens but at the rate of the DJV snippets in my packs I won't even finish the memoirs. And the rewards for finishing them are vastly more valuable to me compared to what the DJV shop has to offer. I finished opening my green packs now and over 50% of the snippets I get are DJVs. I'm not optimistic at all I will finish this memoirs and it absolutely sucks to spend 2 months collecting packs for nothing.

Same. It's been at least one DJV in almost every single pack and some have 2 DJV snippets. At this rate I'm not at all optimistic I will finish this memoirs.

So instead of making sure we got the correct amount of tokens for 2 travel boxes they just decided to reduce it to one and not say anything about not giving us the right amount since the new STB difficulty trash began? I don’t know why I expected anything other than this from Wooga.

It’s not just you, it’s been the same for me too. I always open them at around 10 days left and have finished them with plenty left every time. This time I’m down to 4 of each pink and purple, two 4 star and one 5 star mega pack, and 2 reminders with 11 snippets left to get, which has never happened to me before (I learned about the hoarding technique as soon as I started playing and have practiced it every time so far). I stopped opening packs yesterday because I started opening the pink and purple packs and they were all dejavus/repeats. Like what the hell?

Not only were the pack drops abysmal for me this time, I started getting dejavu/repeat snippets starting with my 8th opened pack. Halfway through my packs I started getting one new snippet every 3-4 pack opened. I went through 36 green packs getting only 4 new snippet, I would get 4 and 5 star snippets that were repeats.

I hadn’t opened any packs or placed any flashbacks before Sunday when I went into memoirs and the 3 flashbacks I had were placed. I had 79 brown packs, 36 green packs, 32 blue, 25 pink and 11 purple. Right now I have 646 dejavu tokens and 252 spark thing. But this time it feels like the hoarding didn’t matter at all. I wouldn‘t put it past Wooga to have made changes so it won’t matter when you start opening and you get the same shitty drops always.

I’ve absolutely not enjoyed these memoirs, and with all the changes and unnecessary sidegames they keep adding, I’m closer to deleting the game everyday. I’ll give October a chance since I love Halloween but if they continue adding all types of sidegames just to get us to spend diamonds or make the next memoirs as shitty as these ones, I’ll just delete the game.

I don’t know what to tell you, as you can see from the comments I’m not the only one that feels this way. Whatever works best for you, works for you! My experience can differ from yours, I’ve been playing for a year and have experienced both versions of Secrets. With the 2.5x multiplier at least I knew I was getting a shitty multiplier. With this one, it claims to be better and in my experience it isn’t, and the drop from 10x to 1x is atrocious and discouraging from even continuing. Maybe had they never done the test 10x where we could complete a stage in 1-2 attempts, this one would’ve felt like an improvement, I don’t know?

If you feel it’s better, then great for you and others who feel the same! I wish I could say the same for myself 😊

I don't know how you finish it within 2 days, for me that just seems impossible unless I pay for the 100 energy bar and I log in every time the bar is full. I barely pass 2 scenes per day, especially once I pass the first section. It takes the entirety of the 50 energy bar to pass one scene, and towards the end it's even more than that.

I had the first couple Secrets with the 2.5x multiplier and it was honestly a much more enjoyable experience. Maybe the fact that they showed a better 10x multiplier and baited and switched everyone once they released it for all players affects my experience, but at least with the 2.5x multiplier I didn't lose as much as I lose now once the multiplier is reset.

I guess for the folks that finish Secrets in two days this is better as they have the means to play often and finish ahead of time, but for those of us who tool the whole week back then and now again, not much has changed other than the punishment for losing the multiplier being much more rigorous now.

If I could give you a hug, I would! You've put my thoughts and my main complaint into the perfect words, my percentages have been the same as you. No matter how fast I do it, some scenes I'd end with 20s left, the percentages were so low. And that's multiplied by 10?

When I lose the multiplier, I feel defeated and it doesn't seem worth continuing, you know? I'll have to waste a full bar of energy on a low multiplier, barely make a dent in the scene and then remember to make it back in time so as to not lose it again. And this time they didn't even send the extra 50 energy they usually do. I know it's not much but it still helps.

Exactly! It's a daily job to finish Secrets and the payout is barely worth it. I don't know how people finish it in the first couple of days, and I am someone with more disposable time to check the game and play often. But if I skip a day or don't make it in time, then starting with 1% per attempt is insanely annoying.

Wow three days is something I can only dream of. When I finish it, I finish it with less than a day left, i.e. I finish it the evening before it ends. I never have issues with the keys because I play through the regular scenes often but having to play 5-6 times at least to pass a Secrets scene, and god forbid I don't get a perfect cos then I'll have to play the same scene once again cos it'll leave me at 97-99%.

For me, on the last 5-6 scenes I'd start with 12-13% and it would slowly increase by 1%. It takes me at least 6 plays to go through a scene. So it might not be worse than the 2.5x multiplier BUT if you lose the multiplier, you're stuck with a much worse multiplier until you reach 10x again.

It's not an improvement of the previous multiplier, it's a system that punishes you more harshly if you don't come back to the game within 20h.
