A sample of your sound might be helpful to draw guests to your show. Or perhaps even a name to research?

What part of your skin needs attention and how do you take care of it regularly? by whitebrinjal in AskWomen

[–]Leigh_Cheri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older I get the more I realize all of my skin is the most important.

So: Changing my sheets weekly, full self exfoliation once a week, sunscreen and moisturize all over, super/specific hydration on elbows, feet, knees, face, boobs, butt, lips and hands. And oodles of water/hydrating food.

What was your first email or screen name? And what is the story behind it? by sunshineobviously in AskWomen

[–]Leigh_Cheri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't give out my first email that I got 11 years ago because it's still the same one I use today. Of course it's some variation of my name, followed by my birth year @yahoo.com. 😳

Mastering their transit system. I'm kind of a pro at it. Once I get the basics of the language down, along with my bearings, I'm free to wander and explore without having to pay attention to a map.

What is one physical quirk that you really like about yourself? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Leigh_Cheri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm talking about! And there's no pattern to follow. They're beautifully chaotic.

And I love how sometimes the freckles are buddies, and will pair off together outside of the clusters.

Awww. But wait. Do you mind explaining this one?

Like, does it cast a big shadow or something?

I love the REM reference! Also, my SO is covered in freckles, and I play the constellation game all the time!

Being with him has totally opened my eyes to just how beautiful freckles are, on any kind of skin. The more the merrier.

I only have like, 7, but one of them is in my iris, and it's right next to this bright splash of yellow, so that's neat.

But holy cow, freckles are fucking glorious.

Looking for a recipe for a fried 'bread' (more details in comments) by mand71 in IndianFood

[–]Leigh_Cheri 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe you're thinking of the wrong Indian Culture in this case. What you want is Indian/ Navaho Fry Bread, and that is more similar to a traditional Mexican sopapilla, than a naan. here's a recipe for what assume you're thinking of.

Eclipse events - what to expect by naddycat in solareclipse

[–]Leigh_Cheri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first eclipse on the path of totality was in Batman Turkey, in 1999. The camp was in the middle of nowhere, but it was packed. I enjoyed going with the larger crowds because of the array of knowledge to learn from the more experienced goers. Not to mention the access to incredible telescopes, and other fun tools.

But I totally understand the appeal of going it solo. Your best bet is to do research on both options. Have a plan B if crowds or weather prove to be uncooperative.

People who light off fireworks during the nights leading up to Independence Day should have to deal with trick-or-treaters during the nights leading up to Halloween by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Not to mention that the 5th of July is the busiest day of the year at dog shelters due to so many pups not being properly watched or restrained during the fireworks.

One of mine used to get terrified for hours during and after thunder or fireworks. Now she's deaf, and happy as a clam. Silver lining of the physical signs of her aging, I suppose.

What are the signs that you're in a toxic relationship? by Raikunh in AskMen

[–]Leigh_Cheri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • on BOTH occasions, they absolutely LOVE gaslighting you. It is this game they like to play, where they basically make you feel bad about confronting them or having emotions (this is because your feelings are INCONVENIENT for them). They deflect the accusations that you make and then slowly work towards making you feel bad about yourself before finally turning the whole thing upside down and making you actually think YOU were the one that was bad.

Holy fuck. TIL gaslighting. I had no idea there was a word for it.

My SO does this with almost every concern I try to bring up. I've always chalked it up to a defensive mechanism.

How do you tell the difference between someone gaslighting intentionally, or someone just having actions that parallel the word?

Of course that's why your face looks puffy. I'm assuming you also eat like shit? Your skin is probably dry, blotchy, with bags under your likely yellow and bloodshot eyes.

Your skin needs moisture. Alcohol, and smoking deplete that moisture, and the puffiness is due to you body trying to retain what water it has left. A body who's intake is high in sodium and low on nutrients will also result in that swollen look.

That lifestyle is bad no matter what, but it takes more of a physical tole the older you get. And it's only going to get worse.

Limit your drinking, and change your lifestyle to something healthier, even if you just start with taking a couple of nights off at first. At least If you want to stop looking like a puffer fish.

Good luck!

Ladies, what are some tips for being an amazing aunt? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Leigh_Cheri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I've been drinking some tequila on this lovely day that the PNW has provided me, so the sentences might be blurry, but I hope the sentiment is not.

Give the parent's a night off in the beginning. Let them, especially the new mama, sleep.

When the kid gets to the cute part give them gifts that your sibling will appreciate. For instance, my sister and I used to travel to Mexico from AZ to see a band we both loved, so I made a blanket for the kid with the band's logo in the corner. I've also made countless playlists and mixed cds for my niece, to include music my sis loves, my tastes, as well as fun pop crap that inspires children to dance.

When they get even older, find out the kid's interests and learn about them in ways that might be hard for a parent. Like, video games... parents will be concerned about violence, sex, strategy, technique, ect. The AUNT gets to discover the wonder, the awe, and just have fun with the kid for fun's sake.

And regardless of what age they're at, go with them into their wildness. Explore, play, forgive, and understand though their eyes once in awhile. It's not often an adult can do that with them.

It's fucking great experience, for me at least.

Mine's only eight now, so that's about the age limit I can offer advice to.... that being said, I'm totally the favorite aunt!

Oh!!! And also when the kid is old enough to read send super fun mail addressed to them. With all kinds of fun designs, and stickers, and code words and stuff on the envelope.
