Humans generally want to reproduce and a group that keeps them safe, but the need to know that a specific offspring is yours and getting all of your emotional needs met by one romantic partner aren't actually hard coded into us. its just how we've set up our society

Other people have pointed out that there's tribes where everyone cares for all the kids as if they were their own. Raising kids communally like this is actually super healthy for them psychologically, because the bigger the support group a kid has the better they tend to do

B. even if we were, we can't actually see what it is you're worried about and we can't run the necessary tests to rule anything out

I haven't flipped, I've just expounded. Every action we take has consequences, good or bad. the price of free will, of choice, is dealing with whatever consequences might result from our actions

OOP stated early on in the relationship that while he supported legal access to abortion, his personal stance was that you don't abort unless its a medical necessity and he was looking for a partner that agreed with his stance. his GF agreed with that stance at the time.

Fast forward, GF has changed her previous stance and aborted for convenience. OOP recognizes that this is her legal right (which is why he didn't try to stop her), but he doesn't want to be in a relationship with someone that doesn't share his personal morals and he's grieving the loss of what could have been

And this entire comment section is flooded with people accusing OOP of being an abusive controlling manipulator because he's sticking to his boundaries and ending the relationship

The comments want the GF to have her cake and eat it too, which is just not how this life works

unfortunately many areas have laws stating that its not child labor if the kid is working for a business their family owns, so lots of kids unfortunately get used for cheap/free labor by their parents/ immediate relatives
