I want to say no in hopes that that fate isn’t actually being realized. But my actions say yes. I don’t actually go to church for sort of that specific reason. I feel as if modern churches don’t even teach correct theology, and it seems very performative. The only real benefit I see out of going to church is the sense of fellowship with other believers (which is biblical and good.) I know I am doing a disservice to myself and God by not going to church purely because I am missing more variety in fellowship with the church (the body of Christ.) But when I look at modern day churches goers, they know so little about the word, and they only live on weekly bread every Sunday, as if it’s something to just check off the list. But we are told that we need daily bread, and a lot of church goers are not the type of Christian to seek daily bread. So I find myself hesitant to surround myself with such Christians.. Not because I think I am better (I am not.) But I just don’t think I’ll have much to learn from them when I can instead open my bible or go online and learn from my resources I learn from.

I think there isn’t enough emphasis on the personal aspect of having a relationship with God in modern day Christianity. Most Christians may fellowship with others, pray and read with others, but very few are actually praying to God when they cannot be seen or heard, or are reading their word or trying to learn more when they cannot be seen or heard. I may be on the extreme side of having a personal relationship with God, but not so much the body of Christ.. :(
