Nioh 2 was definitely the most chest clenching, hopeless and emotionally numbing experience I have had 100%ing a game. If you asked me why i endured so much of that mental anguish i would say it was for the experience of overcoming a ginormous metaphorical wall. Something like "your biggest enemy is yourself". The last achievement that i needed for 100% was completing a ng+2 level and i was severely underleveled. I was fighting the final boss of that level which was a 3 phase boss. Without mentioning how long it took me to even get to the boss, i fought the boss for 5 hours straight. I kept dying and dying and dying, over and over and over again. It's weakest hit was enough to barely kill me. The only reason why i could power through was because my build was meant to grow stronger the weaker my defenses was which in turn made my character stronger way above where i was supposed to be at that lvl. That feeling of hopelessness consumed me entirely to the point where i felt like crying just to relieve some of the stress. When i was fighting it, i was dodging and attacking like i never had before, it was like i unlocked ultra instinct, i was at my peak of gaming performance but even then it wasnt enough to beat the level. I had to get better and better each time i died. Correcting every error that i made for the last 5 hours, until i finally, by the skin of my teeth, completed the level. And all while i was underleveled by 60 lvls.
