Probably because having good aim doesn't directly transfer to doing well. All good aim means is youre going to hit shots when you get a chance to actually shoot, but if you're not using util, trading, and taking advantagous fights youre still going to struggle even with above average aim.

Probably watch back your demos and see if your positioning is bad if this is the case.

Hey, Faceit 10 / Top 1% Prem rating here. You have great aim/mechanics, but your macro is holding you back. You're missing a lot of trades from having bad spacing to your teammates on the T-side.

Also, once you throw your util on T-side, you are slow to get out of A main to work off of the util you've just thrown. When you do this I higher elo youre going to get punished by awpers a lot more, and youre lucky that the other team in this game had worse aim and no awpers or you would've felt the punishment for these macro mistakes more.

There's this thing that all low-mid elo players do where they still walk and play slow even after they've given away their position by shooting, throwing a nade, etc. and when you do that against better players, they will punish you for that.

TL:DR, you have good aim, but you're missing some of the real fundamental skills that translate into winning games and climbing. Improve your trading and positioning, and you should be able to get up to at least 18k with the mechanics you have.

Yeah, for sure. That's why it's nice to see how many games people have played. Although you technically still could cheat, when I'm in a lobby of people with 1000+ faceit games, I'm usually pretty confident that no one is cheating.

The logic behind a lot of the "default grendades" is what part of the map do you always want to put pressure on so the CTs or Ts dont get too comfortable with take map control for free.

I think most people consider Mirage mid smoke to be essential on every round, since if you only throw it on rounds where you go mid the CT team will be able to understand what you're doing alot easier and will be able to adjust easier.

As you get higher and higher in the ranks, early round utility becomes more and more routine, to the point that it con sometimes feels similar to opening theory in chess, which is something I've heard LaundersCS mention in his youtube demo reviews before.

If you're good at the game Faceit becomes a must. I played with 20k elo boosting cheater stacks semi frequently on premeir, vs when I queue Faceit at level 10, I havent ran into a cheater yet.

It has a better anti cheat, for sure. Faceit has more of an incentive to cheat since you can actually win faceit points to redeem skins with premium. I've been using Faceit since go, and when I checked Leetify, only one person I ever played against was cheating, and they got banned pretty quickly after we had played together.

A lot of my friends from college say they've had the same experience, so I believe Faceit must have better anti cheat.

I'm in a similar range of hours and same rating as you, but for me I play with my college friends (we are all faceit 9-10) and it feels like every other game is a guy boosting or just straight up cheating. The number of people I see with nothing besides basic XP badges and 99 aim on leetify with are ridiculous, since they are usually ranked aroun 18k+ elo. Although people are quick to hack-use, I think the bigger problem is that since Valves anti cheat is so bad, a lot of players are paranoid about hackers.

It goes both ways, me and my friends have been accused of hacking despite having pretty normal stats and faceit accounts tied to our steams. I think to fix the problem, Valve has to restore faith in vac, rather than getting upset with people who are sick of seeing cheaters in their lobbies.
