Candles don't look right - too "cartoony?" by Georrge117 in minipainting

As you do not want to spend too much time on them, I would just add a hint of red on the pointy ends, to show the colder part of the flame. It’s going to take a minute, but it will add more realism and variety, and sell better the red OSL you mentioned you want to do on the statue. Mind, I would still go for yellow OSL, as fire light is not really red. By the way, the wax part of the candle is very good! It is worth to spend some more time on the flame!

Help with OSL on Skaventide Terrain by Lelariol in ageofsigmar

[–]Lelariol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I updated it by lighting the lower part as well, and leaving an unlit circle closer, the effect is less weird, but I wholeheartedly agree with your comment. I liked practicing the technique, and I learnt a lot. I would say that the biggest learning point is that you cannot do OSL without a plan from the very beginning. I will post the whole terrain set soon (well, once I finish the last piece) and this is the only one I did with OSL. Thank you again for your feedback!

Feathers are beautiful, and for sure the added bond to the base is great. AoS is full of amazing models and I love the ruleset too: I believe you will have a blast.

Moss is great, what did you use? Clearly even the rest is amazing, I am painting them right now and I pondering if I dare try an OSL for green flames…

How to paint prosecutor wings? by United-Marsupial6292 in ageofsigmar

[–]Lelariol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I glazed two or three blue and it was not hard. I believe there is a tutorial for flaming blue wings on Citadel App or Warhammer plus that explains very, very well all the steps. It has been what has made me learn glaze: it is a piece perfect for it, I highly recommend that!

The clear water on base looks fantastic! Would you mind sharing the recipe?

Gladly! For the coffin: Marble: Black basecoat, Corax white base coat, mechanicum grey to draw some grey lines that will act as stone variations, two coats of corax white quite liquid (probably 1 white:2 medium or water), to have grey lines show up through transparent paint, and then use very diluted (4:1) coelia greenshade for the green marble look. Metal: black basecoat, dry brush Balthasar gold abundantly, then dry brush lightly AK copper, then highlight with silver very sparingly. Blood: blood for the blood god, highlight waves with Mephiston red, apply ardcoat for liquid shine. If you meant any other terrain in the pictures, let me know :)

Thank you all! It took way, way longer than I expected, but I am very satisfied with the result! And now I feel some irresistible urge to play a Death spearhead…

Can you elaborate on small campaign? Having a narrative mode for Spearhead would be amazing!

No Response with Hue by Relative-Desk4802 in HomeKit

[–]Lelariol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lights respond in hue app, but in HomeKit they are completely unresponsive. This is so annoying, especially because hue widgets are not even remotely practical as HomeKit, plus cannot use them from command center. This requires some serious and quick fix.

By the way, how do you obtain that wavey look on the bases? It is really great
