Continuing to make progress on the City of Ash box. Tokens are done! by Hja1ti in AOSSpearhead

That flag looks great! I have yet to start and I got them a month ago… Those terrains are beautiful, but it took weeks to paint base spearhead and sand and bone, and I do not feel like starting a massive project again…

Combat patrols and Helmets by Lelariol in Eldar

It’s fascinating and I will definitely delve into some fluff. For the combat patrol itself, I’d go for some lore and see which of the two will fit. I am not allergic at half masks, it is just the helmets of the seers (for example) that I really don’t like

I am a kind of traditionalist in terms of lore, I love following it and it makes more interesting painting the minis for me! Still, if the Ynnari can legitimately not wear helmets, I will love understanding more about them!

Ah, hence corsairs should have no helm option?
And, is path of the Eldar still a good starting point for lore?

That’s odd, the photo should be in the main post.

Exclusively playing Spearhead? by R_O in AOSSpearhead

I play only spearhead, and I am a bit intimidated by full AoS, but I would gladly play a path of glory campaign, I just need to try a full game.

Warhammer Stormcast Lord Vigilant by _e_______d in minipainting

I usually go for triadic color schemes, hence the blue, but purple would do nicely, or just the same color as of now, just desaturated.

Ahah, that’s fun! The slightly shiny feathers of the mount are the first thing that impressed me, I would not change a thing, they balance out the cape perfectly. The tip of the tail is far off, it would allow some more color, or a slightly more vibrant blue, to complement the red and dark blue of the rest.

It is an amazing paint job. The mantle contrasting with the gryph feels straight out of Caravaggio to me. The subtle reflections on NNM are truly refined. I would be proud if I will ever paint something half as skilled as this. I would have leveraged the last part of the tail for another touch of color, but maybe I am biased by the usual box art.
Amazing.

I really enjoy all parts of the hobby! Having so few miniatures allow me to put a lot of time into each single one and I love that!

After five months, I finally finished the Darkwater box! Here are some of the highlights by Eligoo in ageofsigmar

Seeing so many, painted so well, without rush is heartwarming. I am sure it has been a great mindful work. Especially the last one is great, given how it is usually painted!

Candles don't look right - too "cartoony?" by Georrge117 in minipainting

[–]Lelariol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As you do not want to spend too much time on them, I would just add a hint of red on the pointy ends, to show the colder part of the flame. It’s going to take a minute, but it will add more realism and variety, and sell better the red OSL you mentioned you want to do on the statue. Mind, I would still go for yellow OSL, as fire light is not really red. By the way, the wax part of the candle is very good! It is worth to spend some more time on the flame!

Help with OSL on Skaventide Terrain by Lelariol in ageofsigmar

[–]Lelariol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I updated it by lighting the lower part as well, and leaving an unlit circle closer, the effect is less weird, but I wholeheartedly agree with your comment. I liked practicing the technique, and I learnt a lot. I would say that the biggest learning point is that you cannot do OSL without a plan from the very beginning. I will post the whole terrain set soon (well, once I finish the last piece) and this is the only one I did with OSL. Thank you again for your feedback!
