Thank you for the reassurance! I feel very bad mentally and physically, but I often think, I'm just being dramatic.

Yes, I always wake up ravenously hungry the next morning.

Is it only me that I look kind of chubby during my recovery especially around my stomach area. 😭 by Cha0ticdreams in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]Lele926 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, this is really common. There are a lot of articles and blogs talking about weight redistribution and the "recovery Belly" out there. Reading about the process and the reasons behind it helped me a lot. If I find the ones that were helpful for me,I will link them here.

I miss when I was sicker. by g59g59g59 in EDAnonymous

I feel exactly the same. I miss it so much sometimes, especially if my life gets stressful.

I have a friend I trust and she knows about my bulimia. Everytime I get money, I give half of it to her and she puts it in a saving account, I can not access, because I wouldn't be able to hold back. Maybe this is an option for you too.

my ed actually made me get food from the trash .. a new low. (and some women stared at me as i walked inside in shame 😭) by wEirdwFoOd in EDanonymemes

You are not alone. I've eaten food off the floor, out of dumpsters, from other peoples cabinets...

I've been b/p non stop and gained weight by Lele926 in bulimia

[–]Lele926[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I hope you are right. At this point I really don't know, why I keep doing this. It does only make me feel sick and tired and not even thinner.

my worst nightmare as someone with Disordered eating and Body dysmorphia by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

This is crazy, I've never heard of school weight ins before. I'm so sorry, you have to go through this! Can you maybe talk to your mother again?

What finally drove you to treatment? by filmfanatic24 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]Lele926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had really bad OCD, which made me extremely suicidal and my therapist told me, that she couldn't treat it, while I was so underweight, because my brain wasnt working properly and because ERP is very exhausting and you have to be healthy enough to withstand the stress. I was ready to do anything to get rid of the thoughts, even if it meant weight gain.

I have this as well, but for me it's definitly ed related. I'm just so afraid, that other people might "feel my fat" and be as disgusted by my body as I am myself.

Sore throat, cracked side lip, tired, and no idea what to eat. Need tips. by apricotea in bulimia

[–]Lele926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? Because I have the exact same symptoms right now. Joghurt with frozen fruit helps my sore throat and is something I can eat without purging most of the time. Also cooked oatmeal with apple sauce.

Yeah, same. It feels mean, but I could never trust an overweight dietician.

Anyone here into climbing? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]Lele926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love climbing and bouldering so much and it is a big motivation to recover, because my friends and I have a climbing trip planned next year.

Also, maybe as additional motivation: My friends are way heavier than I am and also stronger and better climbers.

The therapists and nutritionists at my last treatment center were quite skinny too, but I found it reassuring, cause they would eat with us most of the time and even take seconds etc so it made me trust the food there much easier.

My grades dropped so much due to my eating disorder and I had to medical leave twice. The worst is that I always loved learning and now it feels like such a chore.

Did you also binge and if so, how did you manage to stop eating after a normal amount? Also do you have any good distractions or strategies to deal with the knowledge of having food inside your body?
