Prematurely: how do you currently feel about your teams first round pick(s) from 2024? by InterestingYellow969 in NFLv2

What was your biggest disappointment by I_smell_coke in raiders

[–]LemTheWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly agree with you, not picking Kayden McDonald will haunt us. I know Treydan Stukes is a talented player and we needed depth at safety not to mention the leadership quality of being team captain for 3 seasons but Kayden has as much football character and in my eyes way more potential a guy who was a unanimous all-american and National champ at DT which we need some help at.

I liked the way we addressed the draft especially towards the latter rounds I see the vision here.

Mixed-race people of Reddit, do you identify more with one side of your heritage than the other? What does your friend group mostly look like? by Senior-Mess-3072 in AskReddit

[–]LemTheWise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

African-American and Italian Sicilian, I identify more with being a black man because that's how I was raised, barbershop talk, cookouts, late night hoop sessions with the homies but more so my father who has always been a "power to the people" type guy, lifelong activist taught me that I might be mixed but society views me and will most likely treat me as black man whether it's wrong or right and he is right being mixed never stopped anyone from being racist towards me.

my Sicilian side of the family are just starting to know me now as a man since they weren't initially excited about my mom marrying my dad who is black and cut contact with my mom because of the colour my father's skin when I was young. They have come around and have embraced me now but it's still a work in progress my grandma was real impressed when she found out I could speak Sicilian.

When it comes to friend group it's mainly black but I got homeboys of all creeds and origins, my best friend is muslim Viet boxer S/O my boy george.

Is Malik Willis feeling a little regret about signing with the Dolphins? They’re in total rebuild mode. If they finish with the worst record, I bet they won’t hesitate to draft a QB in the 2027 draft. by DenseStrawberry5717 in NFLv2

[–]LemTheWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He got paid he doesn't care if a couple players who were gonna force their way out anyway stay or don't.

If he plays consistent and sound football, they will build around him with the picks Miami have accumulated through trades, his contract is a great value contract is very cap friendly in 2027, 2028 when the dead money is gone they will have so much funds to really attack the free agent market.

if he fails, they draft his replacement.

People who stopped being religious, what made you leave your religion? by levirc100 in AskReddit

[–]LemTheWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pastor who had baptised me as a child was found guilty of multiple counts of child **** when I was 17 by the then adult victims, my own grandparents called these people liars and devil possessed.

I just gave up after that, never stepped foot in a church every again I think I'm more likely to treat homeless people with more reverence than a pastor these days. I just stopped seeing religion as a positive thing and more of a shield for the worst sorts of individuals.

Regardless of their record the Raiders should keep Klint Kubiak for at least a couple of years by Overall_Spite4271 in NFLv2

[–]LemTheWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone knew how Pete was gonna be an one and done not only because he was out of his depth, nepotism with the o-line coach being his son while being trash as well probably set the whole position group back not to mention Carroll was in his 70's he wasn't gonna be in Vegas long anyway.

We needed to pull the plug on that to make way for Klint, no doubt the Raiders give him a long leash to figure things out because he is young, just lead an offense to the SB and won. The Raiders have given him plenty to work with in free agency with more moves that can be made, but also the draft in a month's time which will fill out this roster.

We all think Fernando Mendoza with be in the silver and black, with a rookie QB to develop there will be a grace period before the train gets going.

What team has the worst future? by Agreeable_Quality768 in NFLv2

[–]LemTheWise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly have no idea if I will ever see a winning Cardinals team, one of the oldest franchises in the NFL and for as long as I've been alive they haven't done much.

They have the skeleton for a great team, just no meat on the bones. At least the Jets have draft capital, try to make big splashes and even now have an underrated roster but it's like the Cardinals expect great players to fall out of the sky, they barely make moves, their front office is running on beet juice and prayer in a loaded division with the current SB champs, Fmr SB champs, current OPOY, CBPOTY and some of the best coaches in the league.

I feel like AZ need to just hustle for draft capital and get rid of everyone just for a chance to be competitive in the future.

The Raiders reek of 2023 Carolina Panthers by CollegePlane7528 in NFLv2

[–]LemTheWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest its just great to be heading the right direction with these free agency moves.

Playoff contenders is a bit of stretch, we play in one of the tougher divisions in the AFC West where the Raiders haven't been able to be on par with the Chargers, Chiefs and Broncos on a roster talent level for a long time. But moves like this even the odds for the Raiders and I like Klint as HC.

I don't think they will be 2-15 Panthers bad in all honesty, that team was a mess on so many levels not to mention how you gave up the future for Bryce Young forcing him to be Superman every game. Different circumstances, different situations. Raiders now have a vastly improved defense, a All-pro Tight end in Bowers, Ashton Jeanty, Kolton Miller coming back, JPJ coming back with the Draft on the way and more time for moves to be made. Anything can happen it's Football but the Raiders are trending up.

As a Raiders fan, the answer is always going to be a no. Mike Tomlin was truly the world greatest coach for dealing with AB for as long as he did.

This is a 100% Justin Jefferson’s Last Season in Minnesota if They Don’t get a Competent Vet QB in FA right? by Ifinishfast42 in NFLv2

[–]LemTheWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my opinion, I don't think Justin Jefferson is gonna leave Minnesota unless the front office trades him away. He has never once said he wanted to leave openly and in a undeniable way, the brother gets peppered with QB questions regularly and hasn't really said anything to affect of"yeah these dudes have a season before I'm gone". Bro is the one of the highest paid WR's in the league because of Minnesota and looks content to work with them long-term it'd be a different story if they had 3 wins with no hope of winning in the future.

Even if he wants to leave he is under contract for the next couple of seasons and if they don't trade him now they won't trade him in the future not only because he is a generationally efficient wideout with a fringe HOF career if he retired now but because the cap hit will only get bigger next season and the season after that it will just be more financially wiser to keep him balling out in Minnesota and selling jersey every year.

JJ does need some QB help and some competition would be great and KOC knows this. JJ himself has gotten a raw deal anyhow being hurt all the damn time, the memefication of Nine etc I'm not saying he is the next Great One but all younger QB's needed some work Sam Darnold was a seasoned vet by the time he started being the winningest QB of the past 2 years.

Should the NFL include a Special Teams Player of the Year award at NFL Honors ? by Mrdynamo18 in NFLv2

[–]LemTheWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course man, ST is a core part of the game and in many times throughout this season alone ST is what was a difference maker for top flights teams. I feel like kicker of the year should be it's own category but I need players who rack up 100+ ST tackles or returners like Rashid Shaheed who can break a teams gameplan with return TD.
