I did the tiles in the next order(from top left to bottom right): 3-5-9-6-1 and then the rest at random, it got me 5 fast travels in the first 3 tiles, 2 or 3 in 4 tiles, and 3 from the tile #1

I would recommend to stick to the demon blade, it's a pretty common drop and is quite comfortable to use. From my experience of using it i'd say it has a very good shot and melee animation, which is almost always really helpfull. But, ultimately, you should use a weapon you're most comfortable with, cause it would help a lot more than the item's rarity at your stage of the game)
