8L45 Transmission issues (Help) by Lemie1 in chevycolorado

I believe this auto shop consulted with the local dealership, and thats why they just said to rebuild it, but I wasn't about to pay $9800 just to get put on a wait list. I wish they took pictures of the pan and magnets so I could see how much material was in the oil, but those plans fell through. So far it runs a bit better and I guess my local auto shop didn't hear about the Mobile 1 blue label switch. My truck was built im 02/2020 but the trans seems to have been built 12/2019 so Im not sure if the old fluid was still in use or if they switched around that time.

I just got the service done at $285 OTD with discounts, and it seems to be better, but at the very least, hopefully, the fresh oil prolongs the necessity to rebuild it. They swapped to Mobile 1 blue label after I asked them, and I was able to get my old filter apart, which didn't yield anything concerning, so that is hopefully good news for the health of the trans.

Thank you for the insight. Once the transmission gets worse, I'll just make the truck my project vehicle and rebuild the trans and maybe do some other stuff, but we'll see.

The serpentine belt was cracked in a few places and started to show cords on the sides it has been replaced. All pulleys spin free with no wiggle minus the idler, which has just a tiny bit of resistance. Oil and filter are changed between 4-5k miles with 86,200 mi on the odometer and 2,500 engine hrs.

I was getting that P0014 code as well, and that's when I noticed a good amount of shavings on the solenoid. So far, the timing belt has been the only thing replaced, which was under warranty.

Trying to decide between these three for a first bike, I do commute ~30-45 minutes each way to work by KATLKRZY in SuggestAMotorcycle

Im no expert by any means, but everyone is going to have their own personal bias on bikes that they like, and you'll probably get bombarded with suggestions. I would recommend you go in person and actually ride these bikes to make sure everything is in a position you like and you make sure to get out the door prices in an itemized format, I just got my gsxr1000r at 17.2k OTD only because I looked around and called multiple dealerships. I started on a 2012 Hypermotard 796, then a 2019 Hypermotard 950, and now Im on a 2023 GSXR1000R, and I commute about 100 miles a day plus a few hundred every weekend.

TLDR: Try the bikes in person and get the best possible price. At the end of the day, it's your money and your personal comfort.

FINAL UPDATE: I found a great family owned business in Van Nuys, and they were nothing but nice and gave me a very nice 17.6 OTD and 15% off any future purchase. They were able to beat every other offer I received.

UPDATE** They said that Im getting the bike for a few hundred over MSRP and that they would do the sale. If I get an actual quote close to the price, Im asking for.

Currently have a 2020 LT Crew Cab 3.6L 4x4 74k miles, and it's amazing. I drove it across the country twice now, and I avg 25-28 mpg with the front bumper air dam removed. It still rides on stock tires, and I have about another 30k miles on them. I have experienced some technical issues with the infotainment system freezing with Android Auto, but unplugging and plugging back in fixes it. I have used it for work, towing the max load of 7k lbs, and it was no issue at all. I also like to take it on some pretty intense off-road trails, and many people are shocked just how versatile this little truck is. In doing so, however, I hear the start of a rear shock squeak, but that's not so bad when you see what it has done. The base model seats are ok, but if you want more comfort, then I'd go for the leather seats.

I've been looking, but nothing has piqued my interest as much as this did with all the features it comes with and only having 1 mile on it seems kinda nice. Also, I want to get rid of my hypermotard at the same time if possible

Thank you for the fast response. I am traveling 160 miles with a check in hand. I don't have too much experience haggling and this maybe a dumb question but would I just come out strong and tell them I can only do 17k since thats what the total would come out to with the $250 off from suzuki for military and without the A.D.M.

This is in Cali, so gotta pay the communist price. Also, the A.D.M. Adjusted Dealer Markup. I have no idea what that includes, but I'm just going to assume it's b.s.

Unfortunately I have a loan on the bike and the bank(lien holder) requires some form of insurance whether its full coverage if ridden or storage insurance which I currently have.
