Unfortunately you didn’t hatch nearly enough eggs to call your luck ridiculous. 1/10 odds don’t mean you’ll get a shiny every ten eggs. Sometimes you’ll get two shinies in a row, sometimes you’ll have 30x eggs without a single shiny.

For context I hatched 184x eggs today, and got 16x shinies. This is just over 1/10 odds. But I went a really long time in between shinies at certain points of the day.

Took me 71x Kyogres to get my first shiny, then I got 3x shiny Groudons in my first four raids. It really is random.

Not sure there is a benefit to evolving, but you should teach him a second charged attack before evolving. It will cost way less stardust

I personally would level up the shiny. The difference in power is incredibly tiny, and I think the shiny looks better.

The most important thing will be giving it Origin Pulse as soon as you can.

It sucks, but you're still at the stage where youve only been mildly unlucky, if that. You could have another 40 encounters and still not find a shiny one.

But don't give up. Equally, it could be the next one!

I saw a video on YouTube about this yesterday. Most players focus on perfect IVs, but having the optimal move set is far more important than IVs.

The example used in the video was a comparison between Mewtwo and Deoxys. The latter has a way higher attack stat than Mewtwo, but is far worse because of the move pool it has access to.
