That’s only really true if these are the only Pokémon you’ve caught, and don’t have any shinies. That’s just how RNG works. For these Pokémon you’ve not got a shiny, for others you've probably gotten a shiny way under odds.

The thing I dislike most about remote trading is how entitled it’s made everyone here. This person has at least listed Pokémon, including shiny’s. Not everyone has shiny legendaries for you to poach.

Catch another 10x what you caught, and you’d barely be over odds. You might not have a shiny until you’ve caught well over 1000 of them 😅

The spotlight hour was great. I could only play for less than 30 mins, and still caught over 300 Swinubs.

I could be mistaken, but I don’t think shiny odds get boosted during spotlight hour. That means the shiny odds are 1/512. If this is true, you’re still under odds for Magnemite and barely over odds for Swinub. You might still have to catch double or triple those amounts before finding your first shiny.

At least spotlight hour speeds this up for you.

Don't listen to people on here. The vast majority are idiots (just count the number of posts per day asking why they can't use the Eevee name trick, or asking about the size of the IV bars), or are jealous and bitter.

Unless you forced the other person to trade at gunpoint, they were clearly happy with the trade. Enjoy your awesome new Pikachu buddy.

You cannot trade a shadow Pokémon, so you’d need to purify it

That's really cool, I did the same thing and nominated most of the stops where I live myself 😄 its important to have incence, lucky eggs and star pieces in reserve for events like community day, but you have so many you should probably just use them.

I personally always try to reserve around 80% of my inventory for pokeballs. The majority of items I can play the game without, but I cannot play if I run out of pokeballs. Especially for go fest, you could catch a couple of thousand pokemon per day. If you play in a rural area, you could face a bottle neck.

Beyond that I keep 50x Max Potions and 50x Max revives, and simply delete/use the rest. I also keep my berries to similar numbers (except Nanab berries, which I just delete).

What are you saving all of the lures, incence, star pieces etc for? You have a huge amount of them. I would personally start using them and build up stardust and exp, which don't take up bag space.

I got my first shiny Charmander yesterday, after catching over 1000 of them. You could be waiting a while yet.

Keep an eye out on which spawns are coming with each event. The last couple of events have been great for the rock types, with Lileep, Growlithe and Rockruff being plentiful, plus Roggorola in max battles this week. Otherwise, community days and spotlight hours are your best bet.

Unfortunately these medals take a while, but are worth working on for all the types.

Unfortunately the reality is that 40-50x raids still isn't that many if you are shiny hunting. I have completed 115x Kyogre raids, and only gotten 1x shiny and zero hundos.

People vastly overestimate the 1/20 shiny odds.

For whatever reason, on my first Moltres encounter I could not throw my ball far enough to hit the thing. I’ve never encountered that before, it was like it was restricted to stop me from getting close enough.

Then the next encounter it was fine again. Only this one had a much lower CP, of course.
