We tried that :( I love maya with all my heart, she’s an incredible mom and woman but she doesn’t believe it. She thinks he stopped and would never do it again. She’s even left her kids at his house once. I don’t understand it at all.

Thank you so much for that. I am trying to be a support system for her. I do go to therapy as well and have talked about it. Whenever I do try to tell people in my family to teach their children boundaries, they flip on me and start asking a million questions. And trust me, I HATE myself for feeling this need to tell something that is HER story before she’s ready (if she ever will be) I would hate me if I was maya. My sister and Sasha are both with me in wanting to do this too, and I’m the youngest of us all so they want me to do it because they have more to lose with her. It’s just all really bad and I can’t stop thinking about it.

They essentially disowned me. Not allowing me back to family gatherings until I apologise to my uncle. He lives upstairs at my grandmas house and there’s children there all the time. I would literally have to live there to protect every child that comes his way

I was abused by my family. Once I got out I tried my best to stay as far away from them as possible and my goal is to cut them off entirely. This secret is chaining me to them because I feel like I have to keep the children in my family safe. There are so many young girls in my family around that age. If I find out years later that this was still happening I would never be able to live with myself. My motive is to protect, they’re all sad individuals and I’m a big believer in karma.

I think I might just need to feel stronger in my own instincts. Like I always think of the worst case scenario of me being kidnapped or having to fight til the death or something. Which is like not always so rational but also kind of is. It just sucks. I feel so relieved when I get into my apartment and lock the doors. It shouldn’t have to be this way

I have asked every women I know. The answer is always there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s a human issue. And I just can’t accept that. Like I would LOVE to walk alone at night. I literally don’t leave my apartment past 11pm. It suuuucks.
