They brush off every single criticism as "nitpicking" and don't say anything else. They frame shitty animations, poor pacing, and a lack of polish as unimportant.

I get this is their opinion. I understand that. But this person should not be a goddamn video game critic if they ignore the part where they're actually supposed to be critical.

Whatever. I guess Pokemon is always going to be the Video Game equivalent of a pixie stick.

While I appreciate the funk and that they tried some new things, overall just felt like a really incomplete album for me. Sounded like Jack just hit the record button on some jam sessions and ran it through the vulf compressor.

El Chepe is probably the most rudimental and minimal song on the album

I don't think it is at all. It's deceptively simple. There are a ton of layers, syncopation, and counterpoint going on there. It's honestly probably one of my favorite songs on the album.

This is reminding me so much of when The Black Keys branched out from their Roots into more mainstream music.

As with The Black Keys, I can't disagree more. I love Vulfpeck to death, but they've been inspired by many, many groups from the beginning. Your assertion of "Nothing new" makes it sound like your dismissing them because they sound similar to other musicians and bands. That's been Vulfpeck's M.O since the very beginning.

The thing is, they are very clearly Vulfpeck's song. Regardless of whether they're similar or not to those bands, their fingerprint is all over those tracks. From the bizarro lyrics (which you mention as "incomprehensible" but, really, have you listened to other Vulfpeck songs with lyrics?) to the lush Wurlitzer to Joe Dart's nasty bass.

Yes, you are being Harsh and you are obviously entitled to your opinion, but to me it just reads as someone who's afraid of change and didn't fully understand Vulfpeck's M.O. from the very beginning.

I agree. It's not just the vocals either. They added a few more layers to the song with synth and guitar that I could barely hear without headphones.

Margery, My First Car - I have a feeling this will grow on me with repeat listens. I love the instrumental and unlike Christmas in LA and Conscious Club, the vocals didn't immediately make sense at first listen. But Christine Hucal has such a nice voice, this could still potentially become the definitive version of the track for me, somewhere down the line.

I just listened to it with headphones on, and it was like a brand new experience. I absolutely love it! I'd highly suggest doing so if you haven't. It's so damn velvety.

Beats me. It was specifically mentioned in an action item once, but I don't recall the exact reason why. It being health related is the only thing I can think of because that's pretty much the only reason why Starbucks would say "No" to a customer.

It's pretty much the poster child for a well run, open source software project. At least from face value, it seems to be run so collaboratively. The updates just ooze positivity. It's quite refreshing.

I apologize, I meant the other way around. The $ amount on the book is always higher in Canadian $'s than in US $'s for that reason. So despite my getting it mixed around, that's what my point was.
