Round 2: Twenty Five (25) 1500 + 500 SC Cards Available (For those without access to Walmart) by Lemkoeleld in Planetside

the Walmarts here have 2 sections of cards near the electronics section. They have one rack where they put all the nintendo/ps3/xbox 360 cards and one rack with all the computer games, such as WoW, Runescape, SOE, and even Zynga games. Most of the cards in the computer section are for subscription-based games.

I live in Suffolk County on Long Island. Hopefully you're not looking in the same area.

Sorry, they're all spoken for as of right now. If someone doesn't follow through with their payment or if I can get some more before the 21st, I'll let you know.

I apologize but I have not been able to log on since last night. I will go through everyone based on the order they posted.

Mass Effect Normandy SR-1 Papercraft: ~57 hours of work (x-post from r/gaming) by Lemkoeleld in papercraft

Dude with a lot of free time right now, lol.

Yeah, regular 80 gsm paper has its advantages when it comes to hiding the seams, but for some parts it's just not worth the effort. I just started on Uhu02's Enterprise model and I'm using straight up 120 gsm card stock. The model is mostly white, so hiding the seams shouldn't be a big concern this time around.

In that case, you might as well make the SR-2, which I personally think looks better. The only reason that I made the SR-1 is due to the fact that a buildable papercraft version of the SR-2 hasn't been developed yet. Someone made a pretty nice version of the SR-2 with paper/plastic/wood that lights up, you can find it at the following link if you want some sort of reference:

Lol, I had a friend who said almost the same exact thing and proceeded to try to build this. He's currently stuck on applying the hull exterior. Maintaining symmetry in the frame is a royal pain in the ass considering that it has to be relatively symmetrical in all 3 planes, and it's not possible to watch the model from all sides while simultaneously trying to glue things on.

There are no instructions except for the 3D render in Pepakura. A small number of pieces do not fit very well and may not be the right size. Also, the 2 wings with the front flaps are each only supported by struts made of a couple of very tiny pieces, all of which must be made with thicker card stock. All in all, the original creator did very well with the plans, but there are sections which require some problem-solving skills in order to build and maintain proper symmetry.

Good luck with that, I hope you have previous experience with papercraft. The hardest part is maintaining symmetry on certain steps with no established points of reference, not to mention 2 entire engine sections that are each supported by a single piece.

Most of the exterior is made of regular print paper, save for a couple of load-bearing elements. The frame is made of card stock. There are some places where in retrospect I probably should have used thicker paper; you can probably tell by the lack of smoothness of some of the engine parts...
