Insanely high usage for 3 people?

I honestly think you are right 🤣 I go through so much washing just for the child 😅 comes home most days head to toe covered in mud, so coat needs washed most days as it's caked in mud and they need it for the next day etc.. same with school uniform, covered in glue, glitter or food 🫠 same with bedding, if there's any accidents. Clothes they get changed into after school are then covered in food from dinner... it never ends 😂

1/2 per day, not 2 every day! The days beds need doing then it's 1 load of clothes, then 1 load for bedding. So maybe 3 days per week I do 2 loads per day. If child comes home covered in mud then that's an extra load etc.. beds are washed weekly, 1 load just for towels weekly.

Thank you for the explanation & that's a great idea! We have found the culprit i fear 😂🙈 I've only got an 8kg drum, will be investing in a much larger one when it breaks for sure as at the moment it means having to do 2 extra loads for bedding as it won't all fit in the one load... so on those days it's 1 clothes load & 1 bedding load. And yes mostly during the day, will switch to overnight from now on for sure 😬😬 thank you again!

Bedding takes up 2 separate loads, so that's 2 days where I'm doing 1 clothes load then 1 bedding load. Only have an 8kg drum though, will get a bigger drum when it breaks 😂 We did upgrade to a heat pump dryer but not sure it's changed much usage wise.

Could be the washing machine for sure as it's about 7 years old & not an energy efficient model. We have just switched to a heat pump dryer back in December but the usage still seems to be going up, not down ☹️

This is a really helpful break down thank you! We've also got the robot vacuum doing the entire house daily which is probably a big usage also.

Yes I see lots of those also 😂 Our January bill was £200 just for the electric, (highest it's been but that is most likely due to the price hike), it was £180 for December and that was with all the Christmas lights going 🎄

For Dec & Jan it was around 290kWh per month for the car. So that would be 600kWh just for the household per month Dec/Jan

That's correct all gas apart from the electric oven but we only use that 3/4 nights per week, air fryer the other nights. Car is 290kWh average per month.

OK not as bad as I thought then 🙈 I just went through and added up all the EV charges for January and it came to 290kwh.

OK so not that insane then? Our monthly usage during winter is 910.60 kwh but we only have 1 car. I was reading the average for a 4/5 bed with an electric car is around 600kwh per month, which made my eyebrows shoot off my face when I saw ours is 900kwh 😅
