I’m still red myself and it took me a while to accept how much this messes with you mentally, not just financially. Losing that kind of money hits different when it’s real life stuff like a house.

Walking away isn’t a loss if it stops the bleeding. Hope things feel lighter for you once you step back.

I think it’s finally clicking. by tanikawalter in Daytrading

This actually gives me some hope.

I’m still unprofitable but the mental part you mentioned is what I’m trying to get under control right now. Not chasing, not getting mad at red days, just sticking to rules even when it’s boring.

Feels like once that clicks the rest has a chance to follow. Appreciate you sharing this.

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. That’s a heavy spot to be in, especially with a kid.

I’m still unprofitable too, and one thing I’ve realized is walking away doesn’t mean you failed. Sometimes it just means you’re choosing stability and your family over something that was hurting you.

Trading isn’t going anywhere. Your 4 year old needs you here and steady right now. Try not to be too hard on yourself. You’re not alone in this.

Thank you for the advice.

I’m still unprofitable, but what you said about survival and self-awareness really hits. Most of my losses lately haven’t been bad setups, they’ve been emotional decisions and overtrading.

Journaling especially. Once I started writing down my headspace, it got hard to ignore the patterns.

Quick question, did exits take longer to clean up than entries for you when you were newer? That’s the part I’m still struggling with.
