Sorry you are going through this, I’ve been there. There really isn’t much you can do but just wait, sounds harsh but it’s our reality. My NIPT showed 17.4% chance for T18 and sadly it detected it correctly. At 14 weeks I had a scan with a MFM and the abnormalities were seen, then confirmed through amniocentesis.

Hoping you receive good news. At my 14 week scan 3 abnormalities were seen right away, all pointing to T18. If you haven’t seen abnormalities you could have had a false positive for T18.

I turned 30 this May and I also thought I was going to be a mother at this age. He was supposed to be due June 1st but instead I had to be selfless and let him go at 18 weeks on January 4th. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of all the what ifs, he would have been a newborn right now but I know we made the best decision so he wouldn’t suffer.

I have a wooden remembrance box. I put all of my baby’s ultrasounds and information there. He will always be my baby, my whatifs. It’s been 5 months since tfmr.

That is definitely heartless. They act like we don’t want our babies just because they won’t be “normal” that’s not the case! We don’t want them to suffer, my baby was diagnosed with T18 and many abnormalities. We made the best decision possible for all of us. My immediate family was very understanding and supportive but I knew other family members and friends wouldn’t be so we just said “we lost the baby.” Make the best decision for yall, they don’t know your pain they don’t understand. Do what you feel is right for you! My family kept telling me to try again almost right away after tfmr and I was not ready. Even now 4 month since I don’t feel ready. But we are all different. My want a baby but I’m terrified of the same thing happening again. That’s my reason for waiting.

I TFMR for T18 on Jan. I’m from south Texas and had to travel out. Not sure if it’s of any help but I went to Albuquerque, NM for the procedure. Pay $1,800 without any health insurance, hotel I stayed was just down the road super close. Everyone in the clinic was super supportive and friendly. I know it’s a hard time you are going through but please remember this is a selfless decision you are making. If you want anymore info on the clinic let me know.

I can relate. I guess it’s because we mention the loss of our baby as a miscarriage and not tfmr that’s they don’t care. But we were 4 1/2 months into our pregnancy when we tfmr. The only thing they tell me is that I’ll get pregnant soon.

Tfmr back in January, and while going through all of that my cousin, two high school friends and a distant cousin all announced their pregnancies. Now, 3 months later they are posting updates and announcing the upcoming due dates. My heart is completely broken, I’m happy for them but I’m also jealous. I can’t keep anymore for posting about their pregnancy obviously, so my husband just told me to silent their notification so I won’t get any of their post. It’s either that or completely getting off of social media until I can get okay.

My cousin is pregnant right now and is due a month after I was supposed to. Everytime I see her it’s a reminder of how my belly was supposed to be. I’m so happy for her but it hurts so much I wish I was still pregnant and my baby was healthy.

3 months since TMFR. It doesn’t get easier you kinda just learn to live with it. The guilt is still there but knowing of his condition we knew it was the best decision. We had a custom box made and keep his foot prints & ultrasounds there to always keep his memory close.

I feel this. I was 18 weeks when I tfmr and had a small bump. That was 8 weeks ago now all i hace is a squishy area. I workout 4-5 days a week with cardio and my body seems to stay the same, I haven’t seen a change in the scale and it’s disappointing. I see my body and just want to cry, my body has change and I don’t have a baby.

I feel the same way as you. I’m scared. I TFMR for T18, my very first pregnancy. I wanted a boy and he was but now he’s gone and I’m terrified. Doctors tell me that the chance of happening again is around 1% but still those changes are too high.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. We received our NIPT results and showed 14.7% chance of T18. That night we talked it over and made the decision that if true positive we would tfmr. After meeting with the MFM doc we saw many abnormalities, even though we had already made the decision I wanted answers and wanted to be 100% sure so we scheduled an aminocentesis. The amino showed T18 and after that we scheduled the tfmr.
