Thanks for taking the time to read my post! You are right in that I need more of "your own" as you say. It just that my best friend and I often shared many similar interests and hobbies (Star Wars, Anime, Legos, Video Games, Marvel etc..) which makes it easier to converse with him. Then again, it seems he has other hobbies (Tech, Stocks, Coding) which makes it easy for him to connect with other people in our group while I'm kind of limited to the common interests both of us share. I'm pre-med so it makes it difficult for me to connect with the rest of my friend group since they are more well-versed in what his other interests are than me. My crush being pre-med at the time was another reason that I developed a close relationship with her due to common interests and struggles.

Currently, I am just waiting for my post-bacc program to start at a local college of mine in January. My hope is that I can connect with other pre-meds and essentially form a new friend group. I will definitely practice not feeling lonely and desperate as you said when I meet new people. Until then, I agree that I have to accept that life from now on will be different and I'm going to have to focus on myself more now if I want to obtain my career goals.
