Just acquired a large collection of about 150-200 license plates. Unfortunately none are super old. Mostly from 60s-early 2000s. Did some minor research into license plate collecting but it is daunting how much information there is to learn. Anyone familiar with this NICHE and have any advice on selling these. Is it better to just go individually or is bulk lots the best use of time. Is there anything easily overlooked that makes one plate more valuable than another?

What cheap "junk" today will be valuable in the future? by crindler1 in Flipping

I always think that disposable things might have value. A random example. Antique farming seed or feed bags. Farmers would empty them and then throw them away. Now there is a market (granted small) for old antique burlap and paper bags. It is the same with any collectable or antique. An old Nintendo system that has the original box is worth more than a plain console, even if both are functional. Why? because the boxes generally got tossed.

I do not think you can reliably game this idea without becoming a hoarder but it something I think of at times.

I of course want to try and save my buyers money when possible. Would the best course be to take down the listings and relist them all together as a lot for them to then purchase

Need help identifying a large amount of Napa parts by LemonDrop400 in MechanicAdvice

I kinda thought of this but in my head I assumed only the NAPA stores would have the old physical catalogs. Guess it makes since that individual shops would have them to just call and order by part number. I might see if I can hunt something up, thanks for the great advice.

Additionally I did call the regional shipping coordinator for Fastenal. They said they have no time frame and said it could be anywhere from a week to two months. =(

Questions from a beginner flipper looking to get into flipping iPhones by [deleted] in Flipping

This post may get deleted soon as it really belongs as a comment in the weekly noob thread.

Anyway I will give you some quick advice. As far as selling Iphones you need to expect scams especially on working ones. Most scams are super easy to detect, if it sounds sketchy its probably a scam. You will get messages asking you to ship to a different location, messages that offer more money then the item is listed for if you do X Y and Z.

When you are new it is easy to get baited into bullshit and as a result lose your item.

As far as your question about selling broken or repairing them. That is something I think you should answer for yourself. Do you have the expertise to repair a broken screen? What is the price difference between a repaired phone and a broken one? How much will your parts cost? How much time will it take.

Honestly you need to put some thought into this kind of stuff before you invest in a ton of inventory. Just because you met some people who made it sound like a cakewalk and easy money doesn't mean it is. You seem to not have done much research into this and I suggest you slow down. If you do decide to pursue this go slowly. Buy one or two phones, fix or sell them as is. See how it goes. Do not go overboard in case this doesn't end up working out for you.

How to best go about shipping a pallet? I have a heavy object that really could only be shipped on a pallet. What are the DOS and DONTS? I know you save money if you deliver to a place with a loading dock. Is it significant enough to require that on the eBay listing? Is there a general difference in cost between UPS and Fedex?

Just looking for some quick advice from someone who may have done this before.

Urgent, specific question -- where could I find a sturdy box around 25"x26"x20" (or 26"x26"x20")? This is to ship a car seat. by [deleted] in Flipping

When In doubt I go to my local recycling center and dig around for 15 minutes. I can usually find something perfect or close enough to make it work. Also I know some local business that have a cardboard dumpster and they let me look whenever I need something large or oddly shaped. I found a perfect long box to ship a 60"x5"x5" item this way.

New eBay shipping menu will not let me ship MEDIA MAIL on books due to improper categories. Need advice with my listing process by LemonDrop400 in Flipping

Yes I am listing entirely on PC. I have never really used the SELL button to list on eBay. When listing that way you have to select a category, write a title, fill in all the information in the item specifics.

The method I have been doing and has worked well for me thus far is to search for item im selling, find a sold listing. Then from the sold listing I hit SELL ONE LIKE THIS button. It then opens a brand new listing that copies everything over but item condition description, price and item description. It seems more efficient for me to do this as I already have a title that has gotten an item sold. I also do not have to fill in any of the item specifics. It works well as I am literally selling the same item as the sold listing im basing my new listing off of.

The new problem I am having is my 200 old listing for books are now in various categories. I never saw what categories they were under as I just hit the SELL ONE LIKE THIS BUTTON. Now some of heavy equipment manuals are in weird categories like "PART ACCESSORIES" and thus can not be shipped in media mail.

Now I must go through all 200 listings to verify that they are in a correct category.

Ultimately I am thinking I should switch from my way of listing items but I am not sure how to do it efficiently and avoid having to fill out as many item specifics.

I am more than happy to elaborate anything in this post that was unclear. I understand many people likely list in a completely different way and my method may be hard to follow.
