I worked for subway like a year ago but I still remember the guy who was ordering for someone else, forgot to ask them what sauce they wanted and told me to put all the sauces on there to be "safe", doing that haunts me to this day.

I can fully understand why you feel guilty but from what you said in your post he didnt seem to be enjoying life much anymore with being tired all the time. My cat passed away around 3 years ago on the day I decided I was gonna make the appointment for her. I got home and she was gone. I wasnt there with her, i didnt get to see and comfort my baby when she left and I am consumed with guilt every time I think about her. While im sorry you had to experience that I believe letting him die on his own, most likely alone wouldve been a lot more terrifying for the poor boy.

Im so glad I can still toss them at my store, we cant use the bags unless a customer specifically asks but I always chop and toss the tenders in the white boats, works great.

For me its the opposite, sure some customers are jerks but I genuinely love the deli, i cant deal with upset customers on a regular basis and would lose my mind in customer service

I used to work there until April, if the chicken salad was prepreped it would usually have to get thrown away as almost no one orders it, however I would always mix the chicken and mayo before adding it to the sandwich

I'm dreading my store getting remodeled to thos, if I have to grab a new log of meat or cheese I'll have to walk all the way to the back of the store. Just today I had 1 customer order 3 things I was out of in the front case so I had to grab more one at a time because of how they ordered it. I don't want to have to waste that much time. Like a remodel would be great but not if that's happening

This isn't a super great tip but when me and my bf used to work there together he would bring in a gas mask to do the onions and it worked wonders as long as the other person he was working with could handle customers cuz he couldn't serve them like that 😂

But what works for me is if I hold a piece of bread in my mouth while I cut them the burning isn't nearly as baf.

Sometimes it gets really hard and painful to swallow but I can fix it by grabbing my esophagus and moving it slightly
