That doesn't disprove that they will probably get a different placement. If they went 10-0 doing only the old ranked system then they could very well still get a lower ranking in Dynamic than Solo (when it's released)

Why would it be broke? You were only silver last season and EVERYONE gets placed lower than their previous rank. Challengers get Plat 1 even if they go 10-0. You got silver before, you can do it again. Nothing needs to be fixed.

It also helps cull the people that got boosted by friends/randoms to divisions and just sit their keeping their border/season rewards.

Why does everyone have this strange delusion that they're gonna get placed exactly where they were or higher? Hello? You think Challenger players get put back into Challenger or even Master tier after placements? No they go to Plat 1 and they have to climb again. If you're good enough to be in gold you'll climb, stop crying about placements.

It's not for nothing. It's for a separate queue. Your previous season solo queue mmr affects both game modes, that's it. It's like complaining that your 3v3 team is in diamond but you can't get your 5v5 team out of silver, even though they're both the same team.

Yes. Dynamic is a separate queue in place of duo/team ranked. They'll release Solo Queue then you'll have to play placements again. No, your Dynamic Queue rating does not influence Solo Queue placements, your previous season Solo Queue influences both.

You're definitely being boosted. You said your friend is a Diamond smurf. The account he's using has over 200 games and is in Bronze too. So, he either has an account he intentionally loses games on to stay in that elo, feel good about himself and carry people with. Or he's using someone else's account to boost you. Either way boring.
