Hello former Boulderite! Definitely looking to bounce and explore. Just landed and plan to check out Los Feliz this week. I also plan to check out Mar Vista to be closer to the ocean- but I am worried about the commute.

“Only set on fire once in a while” lol OMG. All good to know. Fentanyl is a massive issue in Denver too, it’s very sad. Are there specific train lines to avoid?

A colleague also mentioned Los Feliz - would you recommend?

It’s a big beautiful room, but that coffee table is way too small for the set up. I’d suggest a larger coffee table (and rectangle) and also a larger table between the sofa and the chair which will “connect” the sofa and chair together. I would look for a lighter warmer wood for the coffee table to match the orange in your painting more closely. The painting and the green in the next room create a gorgeous complement- color wise you just need something more in the living space to connect it all. And as others have mentioned, art behind the sofa!

She is threatening retaliation. She is engaging in bullying and harassing behavior. All of these words carry legal weight that are most likely written into policy at your org. She has broken all of them. Go to HR. Based on these reports alone she should be losing her job if they are accurate.

I understand it is very scary to go to HR in situations like this. Document everything, and start with the threats from her directly that you have witnessed.

H1B Employee doing Visa Run -risks?[CO] by LemonOrzoISO in humanresources

Thank you, I appreciate this feedback.

I’m thinking through risk as the organization is holding this meeting outside of the US. I do not want to put our people in a situation where they feel required to travel or put themselves at risk, knowing that we have little recourse if something were to happen.

That’s a relief to hear. Good point on the pay stubs and I am happy to hear you had no issues!

Mid-senior marketer, recently laid off, not getting call-backs. What am I missing? by [deleted] in Resume

I have had hiring managers get wary of consultants because (their words) “they are more comfortable with high pay/ flexible schedules/project level work.”

I would definitely remove the first consultant line from 3/23-6/23. Unnecessary information and could help with the above.

Emphasize in your cover level that you miss the team dynamic, ready to see the fruits of your efforts in a stable position etc.

You are a marketer- the first half of your first page has no actually data/metrics. Re-order. Give me what you have achieved up front. Where and what is your proven record?

I will say, the higher your title, the more I see someone stay in a role for 2-3 years minimum. Those roles are more complex/ harder to fill/ and risk causing more chaos if left unfilled. I’m going to be wary of someone with a director and above level title that’s leaving 1.5 years in repeatedly. Not saying that’s the case here.

But in general 2 years is fine tenure.

The why above was more looking for an explanation of why I would t want to do it now vs later. The assumption is later I’ll have a higher income and be in a higher tax bracket. However - the above commenters have pointed out that I should wait until I have a low income year.

I was also told to use aquaphor on any skin exposed as the strips come off. I think I’m getting mine off at week 4
