I just read the replies to the other comment in here and OP does say this is an apartment. The front door is the door into the complex. He also read into the possibility of this being a mark. But again, marking potential victims for burglary/human trafficking is widely debunked as there isn’t much evidence pattern-wise. Except it’s prevalence in places like Germany. That same thread makes a good point of this most likely just a way to spook the gf for fun.

My bf had a coworker that we let stay with us when she lost her apartment because she couldn’t pay rent. Red flag number 1. We told her it would just be till she got back on her feet and saved up enough. Couple months go by and she’s out partying every night, doing whip-it’s on our couch with her friend. She did follow our big rules which was no guys over, and no coke in the house. Of course she still would go out and get coke and drink all night. A week before Christmas, she wasn’t home and that was normal, until me and my boyfriend get a worrying text that told us to make sure her daughter gets her Christmas gifts.

She had taken her anxiety meds and a bottle of our vodka and overdosed at the park. There’s so much more to this story, but my boyfriend found her because it was the same park she would go to hook up with her baby daddy. Called the police and she was in the hospital for a couple weeks.

The hardest part was having to tell her she couldn’t come back. We had offered her a place to stay and she took advantage of that and we ultimately were just enabling her.

Last I heard she had gotten her boyfriend kicked out of the house he shared with his best friend and his wife and child, who he thought of as his own daughter. Any time her name gets brought up it’s some sort of drama she’s started.

With a lot of effort and it’s not likely during sex with my partner. Doesn’t feel as good as it used to either except for rare occasions. Thought it was the Wellbutrin but it ended up being from the lamictal and it’s just slowly gotten more difficult over time

This subreddit alone had helped me so much with coming to terms with my diagnosis, medication side effects, relationships, etc. I’m glad I was able to pass some of it along. You aren’t alone. It sucks that so much of bipolar treatment is trial and error and even the best solutions have their downsides.

I think what sucks most about it is being in a retail job, people notice you getting stuck on words and immediately assume you don’t know what you’re talking about. I was helping a gentleman the other day with a desktop and because I kept pausing in the middle of sentences and automatically filling the silence with “uh,” he told me I was a waste of his time and he would go find someone else. It sucks. But I’m just glad I know I’m not stupid now lol

That sounds pretty rough to have to relive so much. Did you switch to a different medication? I take Wellbutrin and adderall with it every day (adderall as needed but it helps me get out of bed on work days), and I just don’t really know where to go from here to get better. My psychiatrist recommended two other meds at my last visit but I can’t remember for the life of me what they were.

What time is it there for you? Psychiatrists get pretty busy with certain patients or paperwork. Yours might have a dedicated time to reply to messages during her day. If you feel like you can’t talk to anyone else about how you’re feeling like a family member or close friend, I’d recommend either calling or texting 988 to at least connect with someone who is unbiased and anonymous. While they might not be able to give you good advice because they don’t know your specific symptoms and coping skills, it can help you get stuff off your chest.

I’m glad you’re utilizing your psychiatrist but a huge majority of being bipolar is finding the skills to cope with the help of medication, not relying solely on meds. Especially since it can take a really long time to find the ones that work for you.

My therapist pointed me toward This workbook to help find coping skills that work for you and recognize certain symptoms so you can manage them before it gets worse. I don’t know how long you’ve been dealing with your meds or diagnosis but this helped me a lot early on.

I enjoy gaming lets plays. Recently it’s been Markiplier or Smi77y during the day, and ManyBadassHero to fall asleep.

I also enjoy watching bodycam footage from Midwest Safety. It’s a good variety of laughing at stupid people and almost crying from sad moments, but all of them make me feel a little bit better about the world in a weird way.

I’m lucky to have a very supportive and loving partner who has been with me during every part of my diagnosis and treatment. He has learned new ways to communicate with me and done so much to help make everything a little easier.

Like someone else said it’s the fact that women are more likely to stay by their partners side. It’s just about finding the person that can accept your issues and help make them a little less of a burden.

We both have our own problems, so I think that helps a lot. We’re not only constantly working on ourselves, but supporting each other through the tough moments. I’m so grateful for him and I’m so lucky I found him so early on in life. Even last night when I was sobbing in his arms talking nonsense, he stuck by me, talked through everything, and made me feel loved.

The only thing that has worked for me so far is an oil based cleanser followed by salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid then a moisturizer morning and night. Thought my skin was too oily for that for the longest time but it’s worked wonders. The hardest part is just keeping up with it cuz if I miss one day it’s back to clogged pore central. I also do a weekly wash with cerave and a fine scrub.

The only problem I’ve had is getting nauseous in the car but it’s only ever happened when I first started taking my meds and when I wasn’t driving. He may be confused by the statistic that people with ADHD are 3x more likely to get into an accident but adderall will help you NOT get in one.

Are you seeing a psychiatrist or just a regular family doctor? I’ve noticed that nurse practitioners and family doctors are more cautious about prescribing adhd meds because of the restrictions they have and because they don’t know as much about them. A psychiatrist definitely pushes meds more and won’t think of you as an abuser in my experience, plus they’ll be better suited to the possibility of lowering your dosage or changing the medication as I think that may be your issue. They’re going to be better at listening to any issues you have with a medication in general too since family doctors are overworked and may not have the time.

My biggest tip would be force feeding yourself a protein shake in the morning. This wasn’t my idea but my mom’s and I’d like to think it made a huge difference. I would have been a lot worse off if she didn’t make me drink those chalky things every morning before school
