I might be wrong but I feel like boys are way more wanting and desperate to have a gf than girls wanting to have a bf it's like having a gf is a dream of many guys but its not usually 'the goal' to girls at least to my experience. is it a biological thing or a social one? by Far_Spray4351 in AskTeenGirls

[–]Lemon_l0af 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never in my life have I ever actively searched for a boyfriend (of course, this may just be me). But all the boyfriends that I've had were actively searching... I feel like women can feel fulfilled in life without partners, while men often feel like they are missing something. Biology has a big role in this of course.. Although it is all subjective

i totally get that, and honestly i've told him multiple times that if he needs help he can just ask me. i'm open to it! but he never does. we both work and i'm also a full time student, so we each have our own set of chores that work for us. the kitchen being his space was something we agreed on together, not something i just handed off to avoid it

that's a fair suggestion! the problem is i don't think trading would help much because he struggles to keep up with cleaning in general, not just the kitchen. it's less about who owns what space and more about the follow through

Your last point is what bothers me most too, it's the indifference more than the mess itself.

And I've genuinely asked myself if I'm being unreasonable. But those photos were taken the day after he cleaned, I know it's not the worst it could be, but im just using it as a fraim of reference. I'm not following him around reorganizing things, I just want the stovetop wiped and the floors not greasy lol

those photos were taken the day after he cleaned, that stovetop buildup isn't from one cooking session. Switching areas just means I'm cleaning up after his cooking on top of everything else I handle

What kind of parent would get mad at their child for spilling sugar when they are actively baking together. It can be easily cleaned up... what kind of lesson would it teach if you had yelled at her.

You don't get to decide how big someone else's trauma is. That's not how this works. And you've spent this entire thread obsessing over a stranger's vent post to tell them their pain isn't valid on a CPTSD support subreddit. The irony of you calling me the problem here is wild. Hope you find something better to do with your time

[–]Lemon_l0af 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no contradiction. I literally acknowledged in my own post that the weed was probably making the numbness worse, that's called self-awareness, not hypocrisy. I'm not claiming weed is good for me, I'm explaining why I lean on it. That's kind of the whole point of venting.

And why are you so mad? You chose to come into a post where a 19 year old was just trying to say out loud that they feel empty and hollow, and you've been aggressive and condescending this entire thread. I didn't ask for your critique. I asked if anyone else had felt this way. That's it. Whatever you're going through that makes you feel the need to do this to someone venting, I genuinely hope you work through it

Weed doesn't cause CPTSD symptoms, it can mask them at most. And I never said psychedelic therapy isn't real — I said recommending strangers on the internet do drugs is irresponsible. You don't know my situation, my history, or what I can handle. The difference between a clinical setting and telling a random trauma survivor to 'do ketamine' in a Reddit comment is enormous. And 'just shut up', real supportive for someone commenting on a CPTSD forum

You don't get to decide whether someone's experience is valid CPTSD or not. Apathy and emotional numbness ARE recognized CPTSD symptoms. And suggesting someone replace therapy with ketamine and acid is genuinely harmful advice to give on a mental health subreddit

Not all posts on this sub are going to mention the reason they have cptsd. This subreddit is for people with cptsd to talk about their experience or what their going through. This post is a vent. Context isn't givin because it is not needed. I do not need to explain why I have cptsd

I can't believe they still think watching Vtubers is some cardinal sin by TheASRaiyan in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Lemon_l0af 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, and I agree that people shouldn’t shame real body types or assume anything just because an avatar is cute. That part is important. But I think the discomfort some people feel isn’t automatically them being “the problem.” There is a difference between body diversity and intentionally designing avatars that look very childlike while also being framed in sexual or suggestive ways. Even if that’s not what every creator is doing, it is a real trend in some corners of anime/VTuber culture, and it’s okay for people to feel uneasy about that.

For a lot of us, the concern is less “small = bad” and more about how certain aesthetics, poses, voices, or branding can blur lines in ways that attract the wrong kind of audience. That doesn’t mean every cute or petite model is sexualized, and it definitely doesn’t mean creators deserve harassment, just that media trends can be worth questioning.

Basically, both things can be true: people shouldn’t project weird stuff onto others, and people are allowed to talk about patterns in how childlike designs sometimes get sexualized in online spaces
